What did you do this weekend?

I had to get a new tire for my car . The back left tire had a few holes , and it leaked air, but I drove it to the gas station when it was flat and it came off the rim. The guy at Kal-tire said it was unreparable because he found two nails on the outer edge that he couldn't fix . So on Saturday I bought a new tire and does it ever look nice ! It feels good to be driving when I'm sitting as high as I should be. It cost me $180 .

What did you do this weekend?

It's A Tough Choice

When I'm hungry I usually don't know what to make for supper . I don't like cooking and I just want to eat healthy . I wish I could cook like Jamie Oliver .
What are you indecisive about?

Thursdays Thought

created by Louise from Well That's Just Terrific
People park too close to you that you can't even open your door? I went grocery shopping in my new car today to the real Canadian Superstore. It was as busy as expected and it was raining. I usually don't shop at the superstore because it's not walking distance from my house.  I parked my car in the last available parking spot in a long row of cars furthest away from the store.

I worried about not being able to get a shopping cart because I didn't have a loonie (that's a dollar coin for those who don't know), but I remembered what I kept on my keychain, is the size of a loonie, and allowed me a shopping cart.  It came in handy, and I was able to get what I came for like toilet paper and stuff I usually don't buy because I have to carry the groceries home and I am always conscious of how heavy or bulky things are. Now if only I could remember my shopping bag :/

Anyway, after returning the shopping cart, I saw this lady park so close next to me that I didn't think I had room to open my door. Well, I was a little annoyed, to say the least, and she didn't even look at me, as I stood to wait for her to move so I could get in. It didn't seem that she even cared she was way too close, and I felt like telling her to get over. I felt ignored, so I did the only thing I knew how. I opened my door and let it bang into hers meanwhile totally ignoring her. That got her attention. She looked to see if there was a dent in her car. Oh, the nerve!  We care about things, not people apparently.
You must remember to love people and use things, rather than to love things and use people. ~Fulton J. Sheen

My Idea of Perfect Weather

The perfect weather would be when I'm hot I could go outside with shorts and flip flops and breathe fresh air in a nice cool breeze. When I'm cold I can go outside , still in my shorts and flip flops, and feel the mild hot sun . But ultimately perfect weather would mean clean, sunny uv rays with a dose of vitamins enough to elevate my mood .

It has been raining for 2 days and has dampened my spirit. Usually we get a last snowfall around the May long weekend , but this year it hasn't happened except rain. We don't often get the perfect weather here in Calgary, but sometimes 4 seasons in one day which is crazy. I think Calgarys Chinook weather is amazing and it is what I like about Calgary the most. Living so close to the Rocky mountains , we can enjoy nice warm breaks in the chill of winter . That is about as perfect as it gets here .

Plinky Prompt: What do you do when you can't sleep at night?

Blessed Rosary
The only thing I can do; Stay Awake! I think that is the point anyway . If that is the case, we are told to pray.

Pray the rosary and 9 times out of 10 you will fall asleep . If that doesn't work idk take a shower and get ready for the next day; eat something or cook yourself some breakfast . I don't work so it's probably not what most people who have to work want to hear . Sleep deprivation is not a problem with me .

Post It Note Tuesday- Nice Assignment

Write an affirmation to yourself . This idea came from Operation Nice .

normally I don't buy clothes that I feel are too expensive but last week my mother bought two tops/blouses for me that were over 70 dollars each. Imo that is top dollar.

My salvation was bought at a price that no money in the world could afford , I am priceless :p

The 2011 Rapture False Prophecy

The Rapture is a protestant term . As a catholic I can translate it as the 'Warning' or as an Orthodox the  'Purification '. It is not at all how Harold Camping and his co-horts think as they are clearly false prophets. Instead the Day of The Lord is the day of retribution and like scriptures say "suddenly upon you will come a time of great distress, unparalleled since nations first came to existence;" Daniel 12:1.

First of all the term End Times does not mean the end of the world but an end of an era and many of the words in scriptures are symbolic or figurative. The purification won't be a natural fire , but an immaterial one by the Fire of the Holy Spirit and the ‘rapture’ of the souls is already taking place. How is that? By believing and converting towards God, by changing our lives and coming closer to God. When this happens the person is choosing to be with God and Love Him. This way he enters the ‘rapture’ serving Him and preparing to meet Him. All these mysteries can be revealed only through the light of the Holy Spirit. This great event in the history of salvation is imminent and will produce unity and purity in the church.

However, according to Pope Benedict, Christ’s coming as Judge and the end of the world is NOT now for there are certain events that are pronounced in the bible to happen first. For one the antichrist needs to be revealed.

In a General audience on November 12th, 2008, the Holy Father explains what exactly is "delaying" this coming:
…before the Lord’s arrival there will be apostasy, and one well described as the "man of lawlessness", "the son of perdition" must be revealed, who tradition would come to call the Antichrist. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, St. Peter’s Square; his remarks are a reiteration of St. Paul’s warning in 2 Thessalonians 2 on the return of Christ.
Source .

Yes there will be a time of great distress according to Daniel 11:31 and Daniel 11:36-39. but the man of sin will be destroyed by the Coming of Our Lord and then the 1000 year Reign of Christ and/or Era of Peace that Our Lady of Fatima prophesies to happen , which corresponds to the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart. After that we read in Rev 20:7-10 that Satan will be loosed again for the final time ushering in the Final Judgement and the New Heavens and the New Earth Rev 21:1-4.
Since the Ascension, Christ’s coming in glory has been imminent, even though "it is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority." This eschatological coming could be accomplished at any moment, even if both it and the final trial that will precede it are "delayed". —Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 673

What foods will you never develop an acquired taste for?

I will never acquire a taste for escargot , mussels, clams, oysters, squid or any other type of seafood like that. To me they don't have a taste and it's the texture I don't like . I don't like slimy; never have never will even if they are covered in butter or chocolate which I doubt goes well with it anyway , at least the chocolate; but I could probably try chocolate covered grasshopper legs ; or maybe not ; ew; the thought is repulsing. I've never had caviar either but I'm quite sure I could acquire a taste for that .

What about drinks?

A Case Of Buyers Remorse

I've never purchased or owned a car before until I bought a pontiac
montana van from my brother-in-law last week. It cost over $500 to get it insured and registered, and the car already needs a new back tire , front left headlight and a new fuse for the radio. My boyfriend hurt his shoulder trying to get the tire off , and I had to make my first call to AMA (alberta motor association) to come and help us because I drove it to the nearest gas station with a flat and the tire came off the rim .

Ramone, my brother-in-law, was going to give it to my dad but since I needed a car and they needed gas money he sold it to me for a cheap $250 because they were leaving for california the next day or so . It's costing me more than I bargained for .

I ♥ muscle cars

Happy Birthday Co!

my beautiful sister
Happy Birthday Colette! We celebrated my sisters birthday at my brothers place last night , after getting together for the much anticipated Mothers Day. It was nice to see everyone including my mom and dad.

It was an occasion for many hugs and laughs and fun and popcorn as we watched some old slideshows of us when we were kids . Kaitlin , my niece, took some more pictures of us and of course there was cake and lots of food and beer .

Mothers Day Tribute

A Mother's Walk -Temple Bailey
middle: my mom; left to right: me , sisters Yvonne, Anne, Colette and sister in law Debra

The young mother set her foot on the path of life. "Is this the long way?" she asked. And the guide said, "Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old before you reach the end of it. But the end will be better than the beginning".

But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything could be better than these years. So she played with her children, and gathered flowers for them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams. As the sun shone on them, and the young mother cried, "Nothing will ever be lovelier than this".

Then night came...the storm...the path became dark . The children shook with fear and cold. The mother drew them close and covered them with her mantle. The children said, "Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near. No harm can come to us."

Then morning came. There was a hill ahead, and the mother and her children climbed and grew weary. She would frequently tell the children, "Keep your patience because we are almost there. "So the children continued to climb. When they reached the top they said, "Mother, we would not have done it without you."

When the mother laid down at night, she looked up at the stars and thought, "This is a better day than the last, for my children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness. Yesterday I gave them courage. Today I have given them strength."

The next day, strange clouds appeared which darkened the earth...clouds of war, hate, and evil. As the children groped and stumbled, the mother said, "Look up! Lift your eyes to the light!" The children looked. They saw above the clouds, an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the darkness. That night, the mother said, "This is the best day of all, for I have shown my children God."

The days went on, and the weeks, and the months, and the years. The mother grew old and she was little and bent over. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with courage. When the way was rough, they lifted her, for she was as light as a feather. At last they came to the top of a hill. They could see a shining road with a golden gate that opened wide. The mother said, "I have reached the end of my journey. I now know that the end is better than the beginning, for my children can walk alone, and their children after them."

The children said, "You will always walk with us , Mother, even when you have gone through the gates." They stood and watched her as she went on alone. The gates closed after her. The children said, "We cannot see her, but she is still with us. A mother like ours is more than a memory. She is a living presence."

Our Mother is always with us. She's the whisper of the leaves as we walk down the street. She's the smell of bleach in our freshly laundered socks. She's the cool hand on our brow when we're not feeling well. Our Mother lives inside our laughter. She's crystallized in every tear drop we shed. She's the place we came from ...our first home. She's the map we follow with every step we take. She's our first love and our first heart-break, and nothing on earth can separate us from her ...Not time...not space...not even death!
I love you mom!

Cities I'd Consider Moving To

I found out my sister moved to California! I've never lived in the states but I guess I would reconsider if she lived there and for the weather. I would think California is a little expensive but I guess that is what the appeal is and because it's close to beaches . I would also love to live around the mediterranean ; like Palma de Mallorca or Barcelona Spain; off the coast somewhere, like Algiers Africa ! I don't like swimming in the pacific or atlantic ocean in Canada anyways, but perhaps Hawaii or some other tropical Island in the Pacific would be nice. I'd like to live where there are some nice beaches .
Explain what you find appealing about each city.

On Apologies

I'm Sorry
I think I deserve an apology from Child Welfare for taking my kids away and I think they should return them; but it hasn't happened and it won't . I need to apologize to my sister for overeacting with her at my moms last visit that we had at my brothers place , so yes, I owe her an apology . Anyway I am invited to a mothers day party on May 8th at my brothers place.
Do you owe any apologies that you haven't yet given?

A 10 Year Royal Romance

It was 10 years ago that Will and Kate became friends; the rest is history. The made for TV movie doesn't portray them in the right light at all imo ; it made me think what a stupid story it was and I'm quite sure it is far from it. After watching the following real footages I was relieved.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

A look at the stunning princess and her dress.

I agree with Ivanna Trumps observation, that it was medieval looking yet modern. In fact if it had been more simpler she could've resembled this beautiful princess , crowned Queen of heaven; Mary .

I thought Kate looked absolutely stunning and I was happy to see the long sleeves and her hair down, although she is no match for the True Queen of Heaven  :)
