Never Fade (The Darkest Minds #2)

I also listened to it on Audio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Lator Gator"- Jude
"In an hour sunflower"- Ruby

At first I had difficulty concentrating on the story that ended in a dusty fiery landscape with Clancy Gray btw. I would've liked if It'd grabbed my attention but it didn't. It was like it was missing important pieces of the puzzle. I mean like large chunks of the story, that otherwise might've been helpful. I could barely understand it at all. Are all dystopia's supposed to be that way?

Whatever Ruby knew about the children's league before she came into it was only what Liam had told her, and now she was stuck inside this horrible organized crime OP alone, after having erased Liam's memories of her.
Vida and Jude are the leagues, (Cole and Kates) puppets.
We know Ruby is an Orange which means she has some special ability that allows her to control minds just like the Slip Kid Clancy Gray.
Vida is a blue and batshit crazy. She can move objects and things. Jude is a yellow. He's so young. I can't remember anything about them though. Lo and behold Cole is a Red!~gasp. He's Liam's older brother. Kate has always been so nice. I still don't know what to make of her. Is she just a genuinely kind person?

Apparently this IAAN disease was the cause of the world apocalypse and kids were ripped away from their parents and put into camps. So far I don't see how IAAN is so horrible but only how horrible the government is. Funny that.

A Bit On Books

I don't review all the books I read perhaps because I don't have to, and I am not good at it . It does take a lot of effort just to read a book though, whereas I am not a huge book lover. Half the time the authors synopsis is more than I could say anyway, and you should just read the darn book for yourself but I digress. I suppose the point of a book blog is to write about the things you like and dislike about a book without being critically judgmental. Whoever said it becomes easier with practice? I think most reviews are disingenuous anyway.

Where You Are (Between the Lines, #2)Where You Are  (Between the Lines, #2)
by Tammara Webber
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I like how the end was predictable and went smoother than expected, and I am happy that Graham and Emma are finally together and relieved of Reid and Brooke's dirty shenanigans and sordid methods of interference.

Up From the Grave (Night Huntress, #7)Up From the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The reason that I liked this episode of Cat and Bones most is probably due to the fact that it is the last and final installment. figures.

The Professional: Part 3 (The Game Maker, #3)The Professional: Part 3 by Kresley Cole

All's well that ends well.

The Darkest MindsThe Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"The darkest minds tend to hide behind the most unlikely faces" - Charles aka Chubs talking about The Slip Kid.

Rapture (Fallen, #4)Rapture by Lauren Kate
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Really Luce ???!!! Nothing or no one is worth losing heaven over. To think you chose Daniel over Heaven? really?! You should've chose Heaven cause I think it's synonymous to Love. You and Daniel deserve what you got then; your heaven is not the Truth nor is it the right decision you stupid stupid girl. Bah I am really disappointed.

Passion (Fallen, #3)Passion by Lauren Kate
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Angels. Demons. Nephilim. Thrones. Gargoyles. Neverwhere. Time travel. Cloudsoil. Oh My.

Passion is the best book in this series so far. Luce travels all the way back in time to the fall of angels. To the beginning of history. Along the way she meets a Gargoyle named Bill, who helps her gain knowledge of her past lives, but intrudes on her quest to break the curse that causes her to die again and again and again only to reincarnate over and over and over. Admittingly he does provide some comic relief . He also attempts to make Luce believe she needs to kill her own soul in order to break the curse.... but she could not give up a love like Daniels.

Torment (Fallen, #2)Torment by Lauren Kate

The fallen angel and Heaven's angel premise is what I found interesting

A Thousand Splendid SunsA Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Thousand Splendid Suns is about spouse abuse more than anything. It's also about the Afghanistan people plagued with war and violence.
