"I have a lot of kindle books that I need to read. Surely that will keep me busy for at least a year"

My reading goal for 2015 is set to 24 books. In comparison to the lot of you, that is an incomparably LAX number. This year I wanted to only read one book a month, but instead I doubled that to 24. However, that number may change depending on how I do with my kindle reading.

For this challenge, library books are not allowed , but seeings how library books are budget friendly, I will also be participating in the 2015 snagged @ the library challenge

In the last few years , my experience with reading was more of a personal challenge than it was an enjoyment but I rather prefer reading slower and sometimes if I have to, read it over again. In other words I want to take my time. It was about how many books I could read in a year. I have changed and therefore my New Years resolution will be to ONLY READ BOOKS THAT I LIKE, not to be swayed by Goodreads reviews.

Everytime I am persuaded to read a book that is against my better judgment , I end up being terribly disappointed and I wonder are they reading the same book?

HERE ARE THE GUIDELINES

• Abstain from spending money on books for one calendar year (or follow a monthly   book budget). 
• Gift cards OK, audible account OK, but no buying extra credits 
• Encourage other challenge participants via comments, social media and emails. 
• Participate in the monthly posts. 
• Library books do not count for this challenge. This challenge is mainly for books you already own. 
• Netgalley books can count for this because you have the book, so read it!

2014 Series Enders Reading Challenge

I'm taking part in this challenge because I can't leave a series unfinished after I start!?
This reading challenge is hosted by Somewhere Only We Know & Words Fueled by Love.

Here are some of the books in a series I hope to finish reading this year:

• Dreams of Gods & Monsters (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #3)
• The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy, #3)
• Tiger's Dream (The Tiger Saga, #5)
• City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)

Challenge Guidelines: 

1) This challenge will run from January 1, 2014 until December 31, 2014.
2) Anyone can enter. You don’t have to have a blog just as long as you review your books somewhere: on your blog if you have one, Amazon, Goodreads, Shelfari, etc.
3) Any genre, length, or format is acceptable as long as it is the last book in a series where all books in the series have been published and no more books are currently intended to be published in the series. If an author makes a decision somewhere during the year to add on to the series, we will count both the original last book in the series and the “new last” book in the series assuming the author isn’t going to write more than one additional book. Last book published in a series doesn’t count if more books are expected to be published.
4) You can list your series enders ahead of time or do a singular wrap up post. If you decide to list them up front, feel free to change them throughout the year as necessary.
5) When you sign up in the linky, please use the direct link to your post about joining the 2014 Series Enders Reading Challenge. If you don’t have a blog, please post about it on Facebook or Twitter and include that direct link as your sign up.
6) You can sign up until December 15, 2014. This allows you to join the challenge at any time during the year.
7) On the 25th of every month, we will post a wrap up on both Somewhere Only We Know and Words Fueled by Love with a giveaway and a place for you to link up your reviews for the month. The monthly giveaway will be open until the next wrap up post goes up (ex. From January 25th 2014, to February 25th 2014). For each link to a review, you will get an (1) entry into a drawing for that giveaway. This will be open internationally.
8) If you miss a wrap-up post and giveaway, you can link your review the next month. Please do not try to link to one review twice. We will be verifying these.

I’m reading DarkFever by Karen Marie Moning
MacKayla is young and naive who goes in search of her sisters murderer. She travels to Ireland , Dublin. There she starts seeing Fae monsters and with the impervious brute Jericho Barron , she gets herself involved in an incomprehensive mystery way over her head; something her sister had said before she died about “Shi-sadu”. I’m only on chapter nine but so far I don’t like Jericho for physically attacking MacKayla.

February Reading Recap riˈko͞op

The first book I read was the Snowman by Jo Nesbo followed by Cinder by Marissa Meyer but I never expected what happened in the early evening on Saturday Feb. 4th ....
went to the hospital in an ambulance after I called 911 complaining of pain shooting down my arms that left me breathless and nauseous.

My blood pressure was super high and there was indication that I had had a mild heart attack from the cardiac enzyme in the blood they took.

spent the next 5 hours in emergency with the doctors trying to get my blood pressure lowered with medication and nitroglycerin spray . After the doctor deliberated and wrote some things down and asked all the questions he needed to ask me I was admitted into hospital in CCU - the coronary care unit.

I was hooked up to the heart monitors and blood pressure cuffs and IV's and an oxygen tube coming out of my nose . They took good care of me and scheduled various tests such as an ECG and an MRI and an angioplasty. Luckily I was still able to get up to pee but that was all I could do . I was in hospital for a week .

ortunately I had ordered 3 books that finally came in the mail . I enjoyed Paranormalcy by Kiersten White while in hospital but then they sent me home with some prescription medication I am supposed to take . I also quit smoking yay. When I got home I was dying to read Masquerade by Cambria Hebert and then I read Supernaturally by Kiersten White

• Twilight by Stephenie Meyer the first in the Twilight Saga
• New Moon 2nd installment by Stephenie Meyer 
• Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

My favorite was Cinder by far and Entice was my least favorite . 

It's monday! What are you reading?

don't like Mondays----but this has been an interesting challenge and something to look forward to. This is where we share what we've read and what we've reviewed or what book we purchased last week , what we are currently reading , and what we intend to read.

Last Week ..... 

My mind was in bits and shambles thinking about what books to read . I made a wishlist for My Bookworm Santa and sent away my secret santas gift in the mail . I had no idea what genre of books I liked best because I feel I haven't read enough to know that; so my wishlist is based mostly on what others are saying or what I think I like. I don't think I've even read a YA book or any other funky new category to know what I'm missing. I'm basically choosing books by their cover and how well the reviews are . It's hard to know what to read but there is only one way to find out and that is to read more ...right? So anyway ....

his week I tried reading 'A Room Swept White' by Sophie Hannah but I couldn't get into it . I thought it was because of the length of the book but really , it's because I wasn't interested. I always thought I had a reading comprehension problem 'cause I found myself reading page after page not even aware of what I was reading . I hate those books and it happens a lot *I must be reading the wrong books*. It's for that reason I get turned off . It's the same with people who talk a lot . My brain just turns off and I don't even listen to them . I need to feel stimulated and interested to care about what I'm reading or what I'm listening too . My sister said it's because we're smart *idk about that* , she's the same way and I thought it was just me lol.

Are you like that?
Is it wrong to judge a book by the inability to comprehend it?
All I know is that not all books are boring ...

The following are two Christmas books I read and reviewed this week as part of my commitment to the Holiday reading challenge .

Texas Christmas Grooms by Pamela Griffin___this was a struggle at first but I'm glad I stuck with it cause I enjoyed it in the end :)
The Christmas List by Richard Paul Evans__Great book!
The Giver by Lois Lowry__ I forgot I also re-read the giver and it was just as intriguing the second time

Presently I'm reading....

The Christmas Thief by Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark. So far so good . I will finish my review sometime this week . UPDATE: I finished it, you can read my review HERE

I have to go Christmas Shopping and pick up a few more books :) I've also been adding to my stockpile for the 2012 reading challenges since I need 150 of 'em. Today I picked some free books up from my boyfriends work . They get books donated all the time .

What I plan on reading... is still a mystery

In order to participate in this meme , participants are asked to write about what they have currently read in the past week and what they are reading now and what they hope to read in the coming week. You'll find many avid book bloggers and readers , and they are quite awesome I might add, who share their reviews . I like it because it gives me incentive to read more and practice my writing skills. It can't get any better than that. 

A priest once gave me some advice . He told me that I should read more books and write about them . I don't know why it has taken me so long . Honestly, I have never read that many books before and I have next to no writing skills . My desire to write was sparked with sheer motivation and determination and has lit a fire deep in my belly but I realized that blogging wasn't that easy and in order to write words that made sense on a blank screen I needed inspiration . Trusting in the advice the priest had given me I ardently look forward to accomplishing the task , because I have found a venue that will help motivate me. This is 'My Book Journey' however small the steps might be.

This week I finished Pierced By A Sword by Bud MacFarlane .

Now I'm rereading Conceived Without Sin .

Will read House of Gold . I hope to write my review on this book in the coming week :)

Ok so as you may have guessed these books are directly related and centered around Mary . The Mother of the Son of God and our mother also . You might surmise that I am Catholic. In the book pierced by a sword , there was a mormon character , John Lanning, who converted to catholicism and I kinda felt sad for him because of his former fellow mormons who were out to destroy him . I must admit this book doesn't portray mormons in a good way as I personally have known them to be beautiful people . Anyway , I had never heard the name they called fallen away non practicing mormons before; Jack Mormon . I would say rather reluctantly that I am a Jack Catholic , but I do hope no one is going to condemn me for that .

O I almost forgot to mention that I won the privilege of choosing an item from the Reading Cafe Grab Shelves! I picked The Miracles of Santo Fico by D.L. Smith for having visited 10 or more other monday meme participants . Yay! It has been an exciting week and I have a lot to be thankful for as I look forward to the weeks ahead.
