God Alone Completes Me

I think this Jackie is right on . Ultimately this is what everyone should learn before ever thinking about getting married because no one can satisfy us but God alone. He alone is worthy of our love and we are made for God . Listen to her give some great advice and visit her website .

Thanks Jackie! I am greatful to have come across your website/video today ! - I think your prayers have been heard :) [Listen to the end of this video where she said she will be praying for everyone who watches this] Anyway I really needed to hear this, and I felt encouraged, as I am struggling in a relationship . I know God is the only One I should not give up on, although I am weak, I Trust, I know , I believe that He will lift me up into the Light because Jesus gives us the strength in the Eucharist even though the current opposes me .

An Engaging Conversation

Yesterday I went to talk to a priest and he was very encouraging indeed. We were discussing heaven and hell and who goes there and he said something that I found to be very interesting ; he asked me if there was one person who loved me. He thought then that would mean I could go to heaven because if someone like 'a measly human' could love me, imagine how much God loves me!

I understood that it meant the love you had while on earth would extend into eternity . I could be wrong. So anyway by loving God and your neighbour isn't that the sum of the 10 commandments? Yes so says the bible, and I take it very seriously because I have heard from somewhere that we will be judged on Love ; for our neighbour, God , our spouses and children etc . LOVE is the whole of the matter and the fulfilling of the entire LAW.

So anyway, I felt very happy because someone does love me but I never thought to include myself . I also was relieved to know that I wouldn't go to hell . He also said that he thought hell wasn't that easy to end up. I was shocked to here this but relieved at the same time as I thought a person had to go there willingly . Who wants to go to hell?

Speaking of one person who loves you, I don't think everyone is so fortunate, heck, some children don't even have parents who love them and viceversa or a mother or father *sad*

I know I am a loveable person, but there is so much about love that I need to learn , and it kinda scares me . I always thought love was a feeling , like ecstacy lol .
Mother Theresa once said : “We have not come into the world to be numbered; we have been created for a purpose; for great things: to love and be loved.”
I think my love for my boyfriend is a matter of indifference.

I know an East Indian couple who are married but they don't even love each other . It was an arranged marriage . I want to marry someone because I love them , nothing more , nothing less.

Anyway this has been my dilemna for quite some time

'Practice what you preach'

In todays gospel reading Jesus is basically telling us to be true to what we believe and to let that show in the way we live our lives.
 Matthew 7:21-29
Jesus said to his disciples, ‘It is not those who say to me, “Lord, Lord,” who will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the person who does the will of my Father in heaven. When the day comes many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out demons in your name, work many miracles in your name?” Then I shall tell them to their faces: I have never known you; away from me, you evil men!
‘Therefore, everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on rock. Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and hurled themselves against that house, and it did not fall: it was founded on rock. But everyone who listens to these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a stupid man who built his house on sand. Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and struck that house, and it fell; and what a fall it had!’
Jesus had now finished what he wanted to say, and his teaching made a deep impression on the people because he taught them with authority, and not like their own scribes.

A Harmful Heresy

A most harmful heresy is to believe that God has ceased to work .
John 5:17 says 'My Father goes on working, and so do I'.
Yes , He is still working . Amen.

Monday Movie | There Be Dragons

This looks like a movie worth watching, about forgiveness and reconciliation . Better than the Davinci Code. click the picture .

THERE BE DRAGONS, is a powerful story of war, tragedy, love and redemption. Set during the turmoil of the Spanish Civil War (early 1900's), Dragons tells the story of two childhood friends who became separated during the political conflict to find themselves on opposite sides as war erupts. One chooses the path of peace and becomes a priest while the other chooses the life of a soldier driven by jealousy and revenge. Each will struggle to find the power of forgiveness over the forces that tore their lives and friendship apart..

"Overall an excellent and moving film about forgiveness, love, compassion, and redemption. Will inspire faith and conversion, compelling people to look at their own relationships and souls, leading to great love and forgiveness." Father John Meyer, Cathedral of St. Paul

Is There Anybody Out There?

No I would not use an online dating service .

I don't have a problem meeting people in reality, and I would never in a million years think about online dating . It is a waste of time and it would be better talking to a wall. Like Social networking . Imo , myspace is not a place to make friends but enemies.

I believe people tend to act differently online ; perhaps you are just trying to fill a void in your life where in reality you are a plain idiot . I would not want to be in a relationship with someone like that .

What Makes A Good Neighbor?

I sometimes receive little flyers under my door from Calgary Housing . Today it was a leaflet on what makes a good neighbor ; as if I didn't know , but it is a good reminder to those who play their music too loud and make a lot of noise at all hours of the night.

Good Neighbors:

Care for their property

This makes the highrise/curb appeal or surroundings and neighborhood a pleasant place to come home to! Sure is nice when it's reasonably neat and clean!

Are friendly

They smile and wave when they see you! They welcome new neighbors!

Respect the Privacy of Others and Don't Trespass

They extend friendship while recognizing some may accept it and some may not
They don't go over to neighbors with out being invited and they don't ask to borrow money or cigarettes

Keep the Peace

Noise can be very irritating - good neighbors watch how loud their music/televisions are, do not bang on floors or walls and keep noise to a minimum when guests are over.

Good neighbors properly dispose of their household garbage - put it down the chute and take their big items out to the city dump

Follow rules and other guidelines set up for all tenants in the building - like only using a maximum of 2 washers and dryers at a time, only a few hours a day and only a couple of days per week!

Volunteer when they can

This can range from periodically picking up litter to getting involved in local organizations that help improve the quality of life in the community!

"GOOD NEIGHBORS ACT TOGETHER FOR THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD, DEFINING WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE AND WHAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE

A good neighbor - a found treasure
A good neighbor is a fellow who smiles at you over the back fence, but doesn't climb over it

Pentecost !

Ok this is in jest but it fits well with Pentecost .
It's likely that I will be thrown away as a dead branch to be burned in the fire :(

Acts 2
3 And there appeared to them parted tongues as it were of fire, and it sat upon every one of them
17 And it shall come to pass, in the last days, (saith the Lord,) I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh

Knowing God's Law is not enough if you do not Love and Adore Him

"...I Am an endless Ocean of Mercy, Compassion and Tenderness
I have given you My Law but it is not enough to say you know My Law, you have to practice My Law; it is not enough either to say you believe I Am, I desire you to love and adore Me; even the demons believe that I Am but they do not love Me nor do they adore Me; they listen to My Voice but they do not love Me;
be loyal to Me and you, you who are My seed, come to Me your Abba and console Me; I - Am - weary - and you are only a remnant who can console Me; you are the smallest of the flock and My Eyes are upon you;
your Abba, from His Throne, tells you: I love you all with an eternal Love - be blessed

My Favorite Artist

My favorite artist would have to be my brother Denis. He's a really good artist. He drew a portrait of me when I was 10 with pastels. I'm going to have to see about getting it printed out. I also have artistic talent in me but I haven't developed it other than taking commercial art in high school . I remember painting a portrait of a little girl that my dad really liked . I hope he still has it and come to think of it, my art skills is something I might want to brush up on

Fiction is an Addiction: Alcohol's Warning

"To Health"
This is very personal to me ....because I argue fight with my boyfriend about it all the time. It has caused me to leave him on a few occasions simply because I can't stand alcohol. You might even say I am anti-alcohol. He likes having a few beer after work almost every single day and he doesn't eat that much and when he is tired he slurs his words. Alcohol affects me differently whereas I can't stand being around those who drink irresponsibly. There is a limit to what I can tolerate. I don't hang out in bars and I avoid occasions like that . As long as they don't get drunk I am fine with it. Buying a case of beer once in awhile (not everyday) is fine, but honestly the only two people I know who drink responsibly are myself and my grandmother. I found this poem over at Three Word Wednesday written by a certain Andy McDonald, that reminded me of what I think about alcohol. He writes on Three Word Wednesday ....Fiction is an Addiction: Alcohol's Warning:

What are you most proud of achieving so far this year?

I wish I could say I quit smoking and lost 40 lbs this year. I am still proud that I lost 10 lbs and quit for 5 days. However, my plans were thwarted by someone who can't stop smoking around me and by being suspended from Raw Food Rehab . That was quite upsetting. I can only hope I can achieve my goals in the second half . The question is how ? Stop seeing my boyfriend who can't stop smoking ? Do the Master cleanse again?

"It is brutal."
