The Best and Worst Parts of the Holiday Season

Picture made by : Bree from the Magic Attic
My favorite part about the holiday is..... joy and all the wonderful chocolate that comes with it , the presents, seeing all the Christmas lights and yes even the snow making it white . Nothing says Christmas like snow- even snowmen in winter .

I like Starbucks yummy peppermint mochas. I just had one today . I like sending and receiving Christmas cards , putting up decorations and just about everything about it . I almost forgot the music and the movies. Well some of it anyway ...I'm tired of the old movies like miracle on 34th street and Scrooged although they are still a classic favorite.

How many times can you watch C.S Lewis' the chronicles of Narnia: The Lion , the Witch , and the Wardrobe? That show was on TV the other night and I absolutely love Narnias winter scenes .

Last but not least is ........ BABY JESUS! Mary and Joseph too and well I can't forget the Magi as well as the Star of Bethlehem and the Angels . I must do some star gazing one of these days :D

The least favorite ? People__drunken, debase, unkind, greedy, stingy , unloving , mean , grumpy people

If I Had 10 Years to Live

Which would you rather regret , what you did? Or what you didn't do?

I would certainly add more life to my days. Which makes me think , what is stopping me from doing that anyway? Do I need to wait until I'm on my death bed to live life to the fullest?

If I only had ten more years to live, I would get married and undo the knot in my fallopian tubes that is stopping me from having more children. I needn't worry about them not having their mother cause by worrying it won't add years to my life anyway .

I would start taking control of my health; lose weight , exercise , fast twice a week, change my diet to eating only raw food, stop smoking, grow my own food, get a water purifier, pray more rosaries , attend daily mass and adoration once or twice a week.

Those are just a few things I would do differently. I also think I would like to take a creative writing course or perhaps get a MA in English and GET A REAL LIFE!

Holiday Plans

O Come, Let Us Adore Him

Whenever I put a little Christ into Christmas the whole idea of the holiday seems more meaningful as it should be.

It starts with Advent beginning November 27.

Looking forward to the birth of Jesus Christ takes preparedness and that is why we have four weeks to prepare. The ritual of lighting candles on the advent wreath before dinner in the evening influences and inspires our thoughts and actions to welcoming peace and joy into our hearts that most people are lacking at this particular time of year .

Christmas doesn't need to be celebrated with grandiosity but with thoughtful humility to the point of transparency; like the babe in the manger.

This Christmas I hope to spend some time with family but what stresses me out about the holidays is having to buy gifts . Everything is so expensive but I like seeing all the christmas bling and decor in the malls if only just to look at . I have already thought of the things I want but cant afford; like a $500 vitamix blender .The most I can afford on a gift is about $50.

I like spending $30 on a samaritans purse shoe box or adopt a family then worry about everyone else .

I guess I have been making some plans .

A Complete Meal

If I had only $10 to spend on a delicious meal , I guess I would go to any fast food outlet . A big mac meal costs approximately $6 dollars .

There is something else that I haven't tried ........yet . I don't buy a lot of canned food but this one is a complete meal ; it's called Nourish. You can visit their facebook page at www.1canIcan.ca . Campbells makes it for the hungry and I haven't seen it on store shelves yet but it may taste good , who knows .

I also like green or yellow beans right out of the can and meatball stew or any stew , warmed up of course.

Daylight Savings Time

I like it and y'all need to fall back tonight. One more hour of sleep ; now what do you have to complain about? At least you get to dust that old clock off and remember to do something before you go to bed tonight, which is to set your clocks back one hour .

Home Is...a warm place

Home is where the fire burns and the flame is never extinguished and the heat of passion is its constant fuel ; insufferable. moments .

Where the smell of dinner permeates the walls and the warmth of the hearth ignites emotions and the wine effects your senses to find each other embrace at last.

Reality TV Stardom

3 top Reality TV shows I'd like to try out for :

The Biggest Loser because I need to lose weight although I'm not that fat. Given the incentive I imagine cameras follow every move you make. I've never watched a full episode so I don't know what qualifies other than being overweight but I think I could do it.

I'd like to be on a game show like the Price is Right or Wheel of Fortune for the money . Who wouldn't?  but I don't know if this is reality TV .

Retro or Rubbish?I also think I wouldn't mind being on What Not To Wear because I really don't know what to wear.  Btw, I have a pair of shoes in black just like these . They are called fedoras , who knew? I used to wear them a lot but apparently they haven't been cool in decades and it makes you look like you are trying way too hard. Anyway, given $5,000 dollars you can go shopping with the help of Clinton and Stacy , plus you get your hair and makeup done . The transformations are remarkable.

My boyfriend and I like watching Wipeout because it's funny as hell . We both think it would be a blast . I think I've only seen one person make it through all the balls without wiping out right off the bat. It's hilarious but at the same time it looks dangerous as you see their bodies bend out of shape becoming more flexible than perhaps they're use to .

The News On The Bus

I normally don't read the newspaper but the Calgary Sun is easier to read. It isn't as big as the Calgary Herald - a giant ass newspaper that's hard to hold .

I usually skim through the news and if I like an article it's because of the headline . I could care less about sports or money or business .

Actually the free paper is more interesting and you can always find a metro while taking the bus somewhere hiding between the seats .

If I Had the World's Attention for Two Minutes

Mind not the deceit of this woman
I believe the world as a moral entity or a union of persons is Babylon The Great and I always have the attention of the  world whore cause she's a bloody leech, it's the peoples attention I don't have.

The leech has two daughters: Give and Give. Three things are never satisfied; four never say, “Enough”.- Prov 30:15 ESV

I'd tell the world to go off herself and to pull up her pants cuz nobody wants to see her crack, I mean , fall,(Rev 8:2) and to stop doing drugs, but I don't think she has a brain, and her mouth is full of poison.

Revelation 17:3,5 And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 5 And on her forehead a name was written: A mystery; Babylon the great, the mother of the fornications, and the abominations of the earth.

The Year I Was Born

It was 1964 the last year of the baby boom, and the beatles were famous worldwide with beatlemania . Apparently there was a big earthquake that hit the west coast of Alaska producing giant tsunamis and Hurricane Hilda.

I don't live in the states but their president was Lynden B. Johnson who declared a "War on Poverty" . Pope Paul VI gave his tiara to the poor and signed the 3rd sitting of the second Vatican Council but then the Church abolished the official language of the Liturgy which was Latin . Big mistake .

Lester B. Pearson was the Prime Minister of Canada and I'm almost certain no one cares about that . Canada also adopted the maple leaf flag.

In 1964 Canada issued Social Insurance cards.

Cassius Clay changed his name to Muhammad Ali, the black superman, and became muslim and won some heavyweight boxing title that year.

Stars were born like Keanu Reeves and Nicolas Cage. Sonny and Cher got married as well as Anne Bancroft and Mel Brooks.

More interesting events of that year

Yea all I know is I was born overseas when my dad worked for an oil company in Sfax Tunisia and we lived in Villa Farhat .

What I Wish I Had Done Differently in School

I wish I had stayed in school and got more help with the subjects I was having most difficulty with , which would have been all of them :/ Particularly Biology . I didn't even take chemistry or physics nor calculus in high school just basic science and basic math. My grades weren't something I admired.

I probably would have become a pharmacist if I could. I like pills and potions but it would have been a lot different if it didn't involve taking them personally *sigh*. Instead I consented to ingesting drug after drug like a guinea pig in a lab. Like once I took some largactil (Chlorpromazine), in the hospital under the doctors care and I thought I was going to choke to death.

FYI sometimes I like revising my plinky answers , cause I can

Tearjerker Books

I hate this because I have never read a book that made me cry . I need to read one. It was pretty frustrating growing up because I was very slow at comprehending what I read and it discouraged me from reading books. I must say archie comics is what first sparked my interest in the english language; it's how I learnt to read english ; so I cannot give school the credit for that.

Lucky for me , I think I have overcome my comprehension disability and I can pretty much decipher what the hell I'm reading now. I don't know about school books because if you don't understand something you probably wouldn't know what you are reading to begin with .

Anyway I still have to concentrate by re-reading paragraphs and sentences over: some of us aren't born genius; and it's funny because I was a very good reader just unable to comprehend what I was reading and I could spell 100% correctly .

Having an audience made it all worthwhile and I started to like reading again . I use to read bedtime stories to my kids and I loved Robert Munsch but I don't remember ever reading anything that brought me to tears . I hear the boy in the striped pyjamas is a tearjerker though.

An Engaging Conversation

Yesterday I went to talk to a priest and he was very encouraging indeed. We were discussing heaven and hell and who goes there and he said something that I found to be very interesting ; he asked me if there was one person who loved me. He thought then that would mean I could go to heaven because if someone like 'a measly human' could love me, imagine how much God loves me!

I understood that it meant the love you had while on earth would extend into eternity . I could be wrong. So anyway by loving God and your neighbour isn't that the sum of the 10 commandments? Yes so says the bible, and I take it very seriously because I have heard from somewhere that we will be judged on Love ; for our neighbour, God , our spouses and children etc . LOVE is the whole of the matter and the fulfilling of the entire LAW.

So anyway, I felt very happy because someone does love me but I never thought to include myself . I also was relieved to know that I wouldn't go to hell . He also said that he thought hell wasn't that easy to end up. I was shocked to here this but relieved at the same time as I thought a person had to go there willingly . Who wants to go to hell?

Speaking of one person who loves you, I don't think everyone is so fortunate, heck, some children don't even have parents who love them and viceversa or a mother or father *sad*

I know I am a loveable person, but there is so much about love that I need to learn , and it kinda scares me . I always thought love was a feeling , like ecstacy lol .
Mother Theresa once said : “We have not come into the world to be numbered; we have been created for a purpose; for great things: to love and be loved.”
I think my love for my boyfriend is a matter of indifference.

I know an East Indian couple who are married but they don't even love each other . It was an arranged marriage . I want to marry someone because I love them , nothing more , nothing less.

Anyway this has been my dilemna for quite some time

My Favorite Artist

My favorite artist would have to be my brother Denis. He's a really good artist. He drew a portrait of me when I was 10 with pastels. I'm going to have to see about getting it printed out. I also have artistic talent in me but I haven't developed it other than taking commercial art in high school . I remember painting a portrait of a little girl that my dad really liked . I hope he still has it and come to think of it, my art skills is something I might want to brush up on

What are you most proud of achieving so far this year?

I wish I could say I quit smoking and lost 40 lbs this year. I am still proud that I lost 10 lbs and quit for 5 days. However, my plans were thwarted by someone who can't stop smoking around me and by being suspended from Raw Food Rehab . That was quite upsetting. I can only hope I can achieve my goals in the second half . The question is how ? Stop seeing my boyfriend who can't stop smoking ? Do the Master cleanse again?

"It is brutal."

A Case Of Buyers Remorse

I've never purchased or owned a car before until I bought a pontiac
montana van from my brother-in-law last week. It cost over $500 to get it insured and registered, and the car already needs a new back tire , front left headlight and a new fuse for the radio. My boyfriend hurt his shoulder trying to get the tire off , and I had to make my first call to AMA (alberta motor association) to come and help us because I drove it to the nearest gas station with a flat and the tire came off the rim .

Ramone, my brother-in-law, was going to give it to my dad but since I needed a car and they needed gas money he sold it to me for a cheap $250 because they were leaving for california the next day or so . It's costing me more than I bargained for .

What TV shows were you surprised to like

Two And A Half Men
I don't watch many tv shows but Two and A Half Men . I didn't think I'd like it but it's funny as hell and I've probably seen every episode . My boyfriend wants to watch his favorite show on dvd so I am looking to get all 7 seasons of Two and Half Men for his birthday .
What TV shows were you surprised to like? Do you watch every episode?

Cities I'd Consider Moving To

I found out my sister moved to California! I've never lived in the states but I guess I would reconsider if she lived there and for the weather. I would think California is a little expensive but I guess that is what the appeal is and because it's close to beaches . I would also love to live around the mediterranean ; like Palma de Mallorca or Barcelona Spain; off the coast somewhere, like Algiers Africa ! I don't like swimming in the pacific or atlantic ocean in Canada anyways, but perhaps Hawaii or some other tropical Island in the Pacific would be nice. I'd like to live where there are some nice beaches .
Explain what you find appealing about each city.

On Apologies

I'm Sorry
I think I deserve an apology from Child Welfare for taking my kids away and I think they should return them; but it hasn't happened and it won't . I need to apologize to my sister for overeacting with her at my moms last visit that we had at my brothers place , so yes, I owe her an apology . Anyway I am invited to a mothers day party on May 8th at my brothers place.
Do you owe any apologies that you haven't yet given?
