Essential Alphabet

Watch this animation of Edward Gorey's poem about Enchanting tots essentially dying off in all kinds of ways for Alphabe-Thursday. He must have not liked kids .

The GashlyCrumb Tinies
by Edward Gorey

E is for....

Which gashly tiny are you? mine is J and it seems that I took lye by mistake :(. Anyway I thought it was a good ABC poem in the spirit of halloween. The illlustrations are Exceptional .

This is a letter E edition of Alphabe Thursday I know the poem is called Gashly tinies and would be better as a letter G but really it has ALL of the alphabet and I posted it because of halloween . It's my second one so..... shhh

  1. oh poor Ernest - though the other kids seemed to have it worst

  2. This is so EXCELLENT! I am ENTHRALLED by the EFFECTUAL drawings! Your ENTHUSIASM for E is EXCEPTIONAL!!

  3. I feel so bad for Ernest. Life was not peachy for him.

  4. My that is interesting!

  5. What a clever post...the little rhyming poem and the super drawings. I really enjoyed your entry. Genie

  6. Hi,

Thanks for the visit. I used to live in Calgary from 86 to 89. I read your profile and it says that you lost everything that was not yours including your family...what do you mean^ I love your blog...beautiful effects. Thanks for sharing.

  7. That was interesting to watch. Ha!

  8. I've never seen that alphabet before. It totally rocks! I'd be Clara wasting away which at times is not so far from the truth. EEK!

  9. C is for Clara who wasted away - oh how I wish I would do a little wasting away! Fun poem!

  10. Oh My! I am Susan who perished of FITS...I should save that for next weeks Letter F post! LOL!

  11. Poor little kids!
Humorous & horrifying at the same time. Appropriate for halloween though, I guess!

  12. Way cool post! I don't know which one I might be but I loved reading and looking!

  13. Excellent e post with Halloween right around the corner..

It is a little creepy though.

    I'm just sayin...

  14. S is for Susan who perished of fits is mine...

    uh oh.

Not a good way to go.

  15. Oh man. I'm Maud, who was swept out to sea. Not so bad, except I'm terrified of being caught out in the middle of the ocean by myself. It's why I've never been on a cruise. :-)

  16. Poor Earnest. That's the pits!

  17. What a fun and macabre stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday! I was done in by lye, too!

I am going to send this link to Julie Schuler. It reminded me a lot of her A-T links last season.

And, Jackie. I love your new header, too!

    Thanks for the fun stop!
