Q is for 'Mind your manners'

Jenny Matlock

Mind your Ps and Qs. :q

This meme is a perfect opportunity to be on our best behaviour , and watch our language. Ms Jenny keeps telling us that.  She is our teacher : Mind your P's and Q's is an incessant admonition among teachers, to their students, warning them to note the right-handed knob of the p's and the left-handed knob of the q's.

like this  .... :p q:  lol

It's a quirky idiom alright , and what is puzzling about it is the Q sound . It is thought to be an abbreviation of  'mind your pleases and thank yous'  but your guess is as good as mine . So there you have it .

I hope you enjoyed todays lesson as much as I have

Thank-you for stopping by and please come again

:p q:

  3. Clever choice for Q! My grandmother used to tell me that all the time, and I never really thought about where the expression came from. Fun post. Kathy
