Book Blogger Confessions is a meme that posts the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month, where book bloggers "confess" and vent about topics that are unique to us. Feel free to share, vent and offer solutions. The question that is asked this week is....
Reading requires a certain amount of imagination so when something manages to infuse that fear in me, I can pretend it sorta just didn't happen yano? Unlike movies, where you can see those horrible images on screen. I DO NOT LIKE BEING SCARED in any way, shape or form, [so don't even think about it or I will punch you in the face.] You have been warned, when I get scared I get angry *shakes fist in the air*
For example: When the warlock, Magnus Bane was preparing to bring up a demon for the first time, I cringed. That shit scared me!! especially when I'm reading in bed at night all alone?! Certain parts can be scary like that but honestly? I've never read a scary novel. It's not my cup a tea.
"Do you like to read scary books? Why or why not? If so, what is the scariest book you ever read and why does it deserve that honor?"I avoid them at all cost. I don't like being scared . I'm not a big fan of evil and horror but I like murder mysteries by Jo Nesbo or Jeremy Bates. Those books don't seem to bother me ...much, but even in the Mortal Instrument series, which I love, there are some scary parts.

"Bonus question! Just for fun – have you ever dressed as a literary character for Halloween? Brave enough to show a photo if you have one?"No I have not.
totally understand not wanting to be scared :)
ReplyDeleteThank you , I'm glad someone understands :)
DeleteYour answer made me laugh. Ah well, we won't be able to hang out a lot then...but we can still about books (the non scary ones of course). Not every genre is everyone's cup of tea, which is a good thing.
ReplyDelete(Um, but then why are there bats and spiders on your header???)
I like the header , It's cute yes? anyway it doesn't scare me. Why wouldn't we be able to hang out? I can be a pretty scary bitch if that's what you want lol
DeleteMovies are definitely more intense when it comes to being scared but for some reason a book will bother me more because my imaginations runs wild.
ReplyDeleteYou're blog is adorable! I would think you wouldn't get scared - your header has a scary vibe lol
Nah I think my header is adorable too...
Deletelol. Punch me in the face. I never was one with the ability to scare people so no fear there. I never thought about getting angry when scared. Hmm, might be a good tactic.
ReplyDeleteLol I know eh? To those people who think it's funny getting a rise out of scaring you , I would rather hit them in the face first then scream later lol
DeleteThat's so different from the way I am. I have a lot of friends like you so I know not to scare them! My sister did actually once punch me after I scared her. Never did it again. ;)
