Q: I like unique names for characters and am looking forward to coming up with some when I start writing. What's the most unique character name you've come across?

Well I just finished reading Supernaturally by Kiersten White and in it are some pretty fantastic and unique names for faeries.
Reth is short for Lorethan . A Seelie Fey who is obsessed with Evie
Fehl -Denfehlath, another faerie
Lin -Melinthros. Evelyn's dad . She commands him to go back to the faerie realm and never wants to see him again.
Faeries can be commanded and are forced to obey only by using their real name. 

Lend as in 'lend me your body parts or ear' that one's pretty funny :D.
The Gnomes name was unique... Grnlllll .
An immortal water nymph, Cresseda is kind of pretty . She's Lends mother and is a water elemental.

I really liked Jack until he went all psycho for wanting Evelyn to send all the faeries to hell where he thought they belonged . Evie had the ability to open gates i.e: gates of heaven , gates of hell etc.... probably to anywhere she thought of really idk. However she was a good soul , unlike Vivian ; her evil twin who was created by the Dark Fairy Queen .

Heart Matters

I ended up in the hospital last week due to complications of high blood pressure and had a mild heart attack. I underwent angioplasty , an echocardiogram and an MRI procedure . Shits complicating .

The cover is dark but the story is unrealistic and I didn't care too much for the whole thing but it was ok. All Evie wants is to live a normal life but somehow she is stuck working at an IPCA (International Paranormal Containment Agency) . She also can see through glamour and is forced to deal with all kinds of wierd creatures . She ends up falling for a shapeshifter :/

A Princess Cyborg Lunar Mechanic . 

In the future world, sometime after the 4th world war,  the alliance of nations made up the earth's commonwealth involved Lunar people. They killed their children and some of them fled to earth taking their lunar children (shells) with them . They brought the plague Letumosis .

Many people died .....Cinders stepsister Peony, Emperor Rikan to name a few.

Luna was governed by Queen Lavena who actually wasn't the rightful heir to their throne. It belonged to Princess Selena , her niece , but she had been usurped . She was only a young child when the hover she and her parents were riding in crashed and burned . Selena's skin was found but it was suspected she was still alive .......somewhere.

Cinder was saved and the only way to do that was to make her cyborg. Linh Garan had gone to great lengths to save her , I suppose because he knew who she really was . She was a product of her stepfathers invention made with a bioelectrical security system. It was meant to protect her . It put a lock on her Lunar gift. (It reminded me of the six million dollar man and the bionic women . )

She was very special indeed and when all was said and done, even worth fighting for. Only she didn't know it. With time everything was going to make sense as revealed by Dr. Erland .

Cyborgs weren't exactly well treated throughout the universe, they were shunned and outcast. They were even being drafted as guinea pigs for science to find a cure for the deadly plague, Letumosis, caused by Lunar shells.

Dr. Erland had set up that cyborg draft as a ruse , just to find Princess Selene .

From the time she was 11 years old she felt worthless and rejected by society particularly by two members of her stepfamily: Adri and Pearl .

Just like cinderella, Cinder was hardworkin and because of her cyborgness she was the best mechanic around so her stepmother made her work in the marketplace selling spare parts for Androids and such. She was the only one that brought any sort of income into Adri's household and Adri used her. She even sold her for research .

One day in the marketplace she met prince Kai . He needed his android, Nainsi fixed and was told Linh Cinder was one of the best mechanics in New Beijing but that is where the story begins ..... I didn't like Cinder keeping her cyborgness a secret from him. It would have been better if she was proud of it *sigh

Feature & Follow Friday

Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?

Shadowhunters , downworlders and kickass Vampires!

I enjoy Cassandra Clares' series; and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead . Rose Hathaway is one of my favorite heroines ... I've noticed also that the main characters typically read books like it's a trait of theirs. Not everyone likes to read so it's kind of strange that they share that same trait .

The Snowman by Jo Nesbø

As frightening and gruesome as the murders were, I found the snowman's own telling of the story more disturbing . Yes Matthias aka the snowman , killed his own mother , Sara Kvinesland, because he thought she was a whore . After watching her have sex with someone other than his father, he felt the need to rid the world of these sort of woman .

He killed his mother when he was young ; beat her over the head while she was driving and consequently the car drove off a bridge into a river . Matthias got out alive, but his mom was dead and the police just chocked it up as an accident . He went on to study medicine. He also became a sadistical serial killer.

It's a shame Harry Hole, a private investigator cop, couldn't have saved any of the other victims but he did end up rescuing Rakel(his lover) and Oleg her son as well as Matthias the serial killer, who was ready to jump off a precipice with Harry Hole attached to him . Awesome . It was Harry's madd cufflink skills that saved him !

I really liked how well written the detailed confession statements were of both Arve Stop and Filip Becker and well of course the Snowman's .
