Storm and Fury is Amazing

A paranormal fantasy with a touch of romance is exactly the kind of matter Storm and Fury is made of. The way that Gargoyles are presented is nothing short of amazing. They are called Wardens and they serve a purpose: to protect humankind from demons and guard and protect Trinity Marrow. Trin, as she is called, is special and she might be a bit of a spoiled brat for being treated differently than any other human but there is a reason for it. She is a Trueborn which means she's a Nephilim. She is half-human and half-angel. Her father is a very big and important archangel and her mother was human and they .... well... had sex.

I loved Trinity's friends but some of them weren't as well fleshed out as others. Like I hated Misha, Trinity's so-called protector which we learn had been a mistake. Zayne and Peanut are my favourites. Peanut is a ghost! He is very funny who has a habit of not knocking lol

Demons run amok in Washington D.C and something is killing Wardens. However, what if we were wrong about demons? Is it possible we are mistaken about them? I for one wish it were the case because I happen to like Roth the Crown Prince of Hell! This demon knows love, and how is that possible? He is a fabulous character and I hope to see him again. Anyway, Bael is evil and remains elusive. If I remember correctly, Bael is the reason that Zayne and Trinity travel to Washington D.C. It kidnapped Misha, and Trinity is intent on finding him. Did I mention she knows how to fight and is a kickass warrior? She is. There are also witches and a Harbinger dun dun dun dun. Bring it on!

All in all, it was a fantastic read if you like that sorta thing. I enjoyed her Covenant series and Titan spin-off. Storm and Fury stoked the fire once again. Loved it!

Elliot wakes up in a strange hospital without any memory of how he got there. He's told about an accident in which he sustained a slight concussion, causing him to have temporarily lost his memory.
But then he finds an alarming message in his own handwriting, telling him not to trust the nurse. And there is something odd about her. Does she really need all those blood samples? Why does she lock the door when she leaves? And is it normal not to allow any visitors?
The truth turns out to be more horrible than Elliot could have ever imagined, as he realizes how great of a danger he's in, cut off from the outside world and dealing with paranormal forces of evil.

A Taste for Blood is a very short story and I feel so dumb for not knowing this, plus, it wasn't scary IMO. But it was free so I shouldn't complain. I like Vampires though.

It's about a boy who wakes up somewhere in a basement and doesn't remember how he got there and why or where he is.
He's being lied to by a couple of vampires who are feeding off his blood and telling him all kinds of stories like- he's in the hospital and was in an accident and has a concussion and that he needs to take a pink pill for the pain. Only this pill is a sleeping pill and the vampires probably wiped his memory while he was sleeping. IRDK because the author doesn't really go into detail about how he loses his memory. Anyway, the fraud doctor Pram and his nurse Sevi bandage his head to make it look like he's hooked up to an IV pole. Just a bunch of lies so they can get their fix *shrugs* Even though the boy doesn't remember what happened he figures it out and writes notes to himself so he'd remember what he learnt the day before. It almost seemed like groundhog day at first- the same thing happening on repeat.
Finally, he makes a plan involving some garlic he had stored in his bag. from when he went grocery shopping and was kidnapped (by a vampire,) but it turns out these vampires are highly susceptible and/or allergic to garlic so he was able to escape into the light of day.  THE END

Half-Bloods aren't so bad

Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I don't get what the flower reference in the cover is about. I might've missed something. It's been awhile a few days since I finished this book but I will try to remember it.

Alex Andros is quite the kickass fighter with special powers because she is a half-blood.

There is a god who she has a big crush on, Aiden, and he's a pure blood. Hematoi's descend from the unions of gods and mortals. It is forbidden for them to be together as a rule, because the gods said so, but we don't see or hear them. As is usual they always get a bad rap lol

Lexie aka Alex expected to be reprimanded for her 3 year absence but is allowed back into the Covenant. Her stepfather Lucian is now a high political figure but she has no feelings for him.

Her mother, Rachelle, had taken Lexie and left everything behind because of something the oracle said about her daughter being the Apollyon when she turns 17. I don't know why that would be a bad thing either.

Aiden offers to train her in defensive combat against the Daimons. When Lexie finds out through a series of events that her mother is alive and is a Daimon, she has to stop her mother from killing others so she makes it her job to kill her. It's pretty sad and brave and unheard of to have to kill your own mother and she fails the first time. Rachelle kidnaps her and takes her back to Miami instead.
