Teaser Tuesday [Nov 13]

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teaser:

Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #2)
"She'd wanted to believe that they could be trusted to have some humanity. They were soldiers, not brute killers, and not wild animals, either, whose appetites functioned beyond the reach of reason."

- Days of Blood and Starlight page 222-223

Tell Me Something Tuesday

Tell Me Something:

What kinds of paranormal creatures do you wish you could read more of? Are there any that you think are overdone?

There is one paranormal creature that I haven't read more about . Werecats. I've only seen them in Rachel Vincent's Shifter series. I think they are pretty cool and can fight really well but they are helpless when it comes to those birds. What are they again?

Thunderbirds! Another paranormal creature and they are awesome! They have a large upper torso with short tiny legs but when they shapeshift they have talons and a beac with a gigantic wing span of course, and live high up on a mountain in a big birdhouse lol.

Speaking about strange paranormal creatures, Thiago and Brimstone and Madrigal from Daughter of Smoke and Bones are wierd. They call themselves the Chimaera but I think when it comes to Thiago and Brimstone they are part demon as well. I've never heard of the chimaera before but in the book they have horns like a goat.

Pegasus Drawn by [Cyorstag]

I like fantasy creatures such as the Centaur. I've seen them in Harry Potter and The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe.  I would also like to read more about Pegasus related creatures. I think it would be cool to have a horse that flies and be able to ride it like Hercules did.

Neaera

I don't know the difference between a nymph and a faery yet but we don't hear too much about Nymphs. I was a dark nymph once for halloween. Faeries are way popular from Lord of the Rings to Karen Marie Monings Fever Series. I like them but we don't need more of them . We don't need more Angels either . Heck there were a lot of fairy folk in H.P. Mallory's Jolie Wilkins series too.

J.L Bryan writes a good faery tale in his series Songs of Magic. I would also like to see more of Mermaids and Mermans. The only one I've read about is the popular Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Half man/woman half fish I guess :)

It's about a girl with anorexia and her delusions of being Famine riding the pale horse. When she attempts suicide by ingesting some of her mothers pills , Death comes knocking at her door in the form of a postman . literally. She answers the door and was given a package with the idea she was Famine. Inside the package were the Scales.

She, Lisabeth Lewis, seventeen and anorexic and suicidal and uncertain of her own path- she'd done something that mattered. She'd ignored her own pain and had helped others.

Iced to My Fever

Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1)

Iced by Karen Marie Moning

Dude! I <3 Christian MacKeltar! Ok.... I like Dancer too and Sonic booms. Ryodan and Lor can burn in hell. What I disliked was Kat and her worrying over being head mistress of the Abbey with the fear of Cruce living in her basement and having sex with her 'Gah!'

I don't agree with Dani's assessment of Ryodan. He isn't all that bad. I mean Mac's mother didn't think so anyway and neither did Jo. Dani could've learnt more self control . At times she was too naive and disrespectful even for Ryodan but he handled her as best he could. Now we just have to wait for her to grow up. She acts like nobody is going to tell her what to do and she means it. I hope she turns out well.

AWC aka After the Wall Crash, the Fae pretty much infiltrated the city of Dublin and took it over, while Dani Mega O'Malley is out on her own acting like a Superhero, fixing the worlds problems and killing the Unseelies and Shades. Ryodan sees himself as her protector and offers her a job. Of course Dani rebels at the thought of working for someone else. She hates him. He asks her to help him find out what it is that is Icing up different areas throughout the city including Chester's.
"Kid, Batman needs Robin."
Dude. I go all soft and melty inside and swallow a dreamy sigh. Robin to his Batman! Superhero partners.....He could have had me at hello if he'd said that first.

Her relationship with him scares me but then again her relationship to Dancer is especially worrisome. They are so young and alone. I thought she would be safe if Christian was there to protect her. Did I say I love Christian? In Dreamfever he's the guy that gets caught in the land of Faery and gets turned into an Unseelie Prince.

I was happy that Christian takes Dani to see the White Mansion. I love that place in the world of Fae! It is there we encounter the Crimson Hag.
Dani, accidentally opens a bottle and lets her loose. Big Oops. She feels guilty when the Hag kills Ryodan and Barrons! haha! Feckin-A! She thought they were dead! but soon learns Ryodan is immortal. When he doesn't kill her she actually breaks down and cries in front of him.

Christian MacKeltar

He isn't what he's pretending to be with her. I watch him all the time. I'm going to be there when he stops pretending. I'm going to be her bulletproof vest, her shield, her fallen fucking angel, whether she wants one or not. He's pretending he's almost human. He's no more human than me.- Chapter 13 page 143

I recommend you read the entire #Fever Series before you read this one!

Darkfever Bloodfever Faefever Dreamfever Shadowfever Iced

November 5, 2012

Dreamfever Mac 4.0

Dreamfever book 4 ( The Fever Series )

Dreamfever book 4 by Karen Marie Moning

Narrator: Natalie Ross, Phil Gigante

Wow! I have no choice but to read Shadowfever unless I want to stay hanging on that cliff of a hanger forever. I hope Mac can get the hell out of that god forsaken place Faery  now that Ryoden and *ahem shall I dare mention the monster? ya they are both dead now OOPS! I have my opinion of who that monster might be but I won't spoil it.

In the beginning Dani saves MacKayla from the Unseelie Princes and brings her unconscious shell of a body to the Abbey where she is not welcome there. Thank God for Dani! She's a young Sidheseer who's fiesty fast and brave

MacKayla was raped and turned into a Fae sex addict, they call Priya. Listening to it on audio it was seriously disturbing but then again the sex between Barrons and her is the hottest it would ever get. I know some of you think he's hot but meh he's still a 'Jackass' imo. So with the help of Jericho Barrons Mac slowly becomes herself again but better. Mac 4.0

Fever Series book#3

Faefever (Fever, #3)Faefever by Karen Marie Moning

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As I listened to the audio, the narrator kind of took the sexy and beauty out of it for me , however, the story was more exciting than the last one. I probably would have preferred to read the book but I'm in a hurry to get caught up with this series. If I don't get Dreamfever asap I will start listening to Shadowfever but I must find out what happens to MacKayla :(

We are left wondering why the rock amulet that Barrons gave MacKayla, let loose a bunch of Shades on the Abbey. Everyone at the Abbey and Rowena thinks she betrayed them. MacKayla is caught in the middle of the city when the walls came down and then was seduced and trapped by the Faeries AND Darroc the Lord Master!(he's hot btw) OMG! I think they've turned her into a Pri Ya, a Fae sex addict.

In the first chapters MacKayla has another encounter with the sinsar-dhub and learns that it possesses people. Nobody seems to be able to touch it as it is the most powerful book ever created.

And for an ancient book of dark magic so evil, it corrupts anyone who touches it.

Mac's quest for the Sinsar Dubh takes her into the mean, shape-shifting streets of Dublin, with a suspicious cop on her tail. Forced into a dangerous triangle of alliance with V'lane, an insatiable Fae prince of lethally erotic tastes, and Jericho Barrons, a man of primal desires and untold secrets, Mac is soon locked in a battle for her body, mind, and soul.

As All Hallows' Eve approaches and the city descends into chaos, as a shocking truth about the Dark Book is uncovered, not even Mac can prevent a deadly race of immortals from shattering the walls...

The Fever Series book#2

Bloodfever (Fever, #2)

Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

MacKayla would not accept her fathers help, nor Prince V'lane's Cuff of Cruce, nor the old lady Sidhe'seers help BUT when she was down inside a cavern with Malluce, she would eat dark Fae Seelie flesh . wth?

Talk about stupid. I can't say I like MacKayla. She is a spoiled selfish wannabe superhero.
