Good Ghost Gone Bad by Janiera Eldridge

Brianna Moreno was 22 when she was murdered by some psycho serial killer named Brian who had killed dozens of people before her. Now, she was stuck on this mortal coil as a ghost and had to learn how to survive if you will, at being one, like move objects and transport. With the help of Tate, another ghost who she thinks is hot, he leads her to an old decrepit house. Here she finds other victim ghosts intent on avenging themselves. I found the story had it's disturbing points and gory points but it was very amateurish.

First of all, too many spelling mistakes. I don't know if it is the editor's fault but it was awful. Secondly, did the premise of being a ghost fail with Brian and his wife when they were killed? Didn't these murdered ghost victims think Brian and his wife would become ghosts as well? They didn't but why not? It wasn't something that was explained and am I the only one who thinks this?

Anyway I'm glad Brianna was able to save her sister and that the ghosts succeeded in killing the bad guys. I was even happy to hear about the romantic theme with Tate and Brianna but I don't think I would recommend this book to anyone until the errors are corrected.

New All Hallows Read Illustrations

There was a contest this month for artists to best illustrate the spirit of All Hallows Read made popular by Neil Gaiman. The entries were all astounding which made it difficult to choose.

They can be used as bookmarks or stickers and have the same message: Give or share a spooky story for halloween. I'm not sure if everyone would agree a book is better than candy but I'm all for both. I know I'm enjoying the stories I've been reading so far.

The saga continues with Sofia and Ben's journey out of vampire captivity. Last time, they were taken as prisoners and made slaves in an awful place called the Shade. Now the Prince of the Shade, Derek Novak, would do anything for Sofia. So he releases her along with her best friend Ben, back to civilization.

Being in the Shade has changed both Ben and Sofia's life forever and they cannot put it past them as much as they try. Sofia doesn't share the same attitude and repulsion to the Shade as Ben does, and this is where the conflict of interest lies. It leads them directly in opposing directions. Ben wants revenge and seeks to be a vampire hunter while Sofia goes back to Derek Novak and the Shade. Sadly.

Both of them face major obstacles. The Shade is fraught with foreboding warning that "The Darkness is Coming" and looms over everyone's head. Derek's sister Vivienne, seems to think Sofia is the key to neutralizing and calming everyone the fuck down. I like how the characters slowly unveil to reveal the truth of the matter. Surprise!

Boo Berry Fun Marshmallow Treats For Halloween

Ingredients

6 cups Boo Berry Cereal
5 and 1/2 cups Marshmallows, mini
3 tablespoons Butter

Instructions

1. Grease a 13x19-inch pan or dish. Cut a piece of wax paper or parchment paper large enough to cover pan. Set both aside.
2. Place butter in large microwave-safe bowl. Melt in microwave on high for 45 seconds or until melted. Be careful, bowl may be hot!
3. Add marshmallows. Toss them until coated with butter.
4. Return bowl to microwave and cook for 45 seconds. Carefully give a stir and microwave for another 45 seconds or until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended.
5. Add cereal immediately and mix well.

6. Scoop cereal and marshmallow mixture into greased pan, distributing as evenly as you can but working quickly.
7. Place parchment paper over cereal and press down until mostly even and well distributed. Peel off paper and discard.
8. Cut into squares when completely cooled.

Tips for Making Great Boo Berry Squares

• A 10-oz bag of mini marshmallows is more than enough for this recipe.
• Using six cups of Boo Berry leaves a little bit in the box so you can still enjoy a bowl of cereal!
• Make sure your dish is greased first-- this whole process goes very quickly and you have to work fast.
• Be careful! Your microwavable dishes, butter and marshmallows may get very hot.
• You can pop your dish in the refrigerator to cool your squares more quickly.

After a night of partying Tana wakes up and finds that everyone at the party has been slaughtered. What compels her to rescue a vampire named Gavriel, and her ex-boyfriend Aidan from that house, I have no idea.
The story takes us on a dark and twisted journey to Coldtown where Tana lives among dangerous vampires and is at risk of turning into one. She seems to do a good job at evading it though until one of the people she meets along the way bites her.....

Horns by Joe Hill

Horns written by Joe Hill will be debuting in theaters sometime in 2014. The star playing the role of Ignatius Perrish, is none other than Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe sure to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year.

Something happened to Ignatius Perrish, when he fell asleep drunk in an old foundry underneath a tree where Merrin Williams was sodomized and killed. We are left wondering why Ig had two horns growing on the side of his head. Nobody seems to care, oddly enough, but what they did care about was they believed he killed Merrin and got away with it. Except HE didn't kill her. Poor devil.

What I didn't expect was Blasphemy. Gah! my virgin ears! I don't know if I'd want to see the movie. Sometimes it was pretty shitty but that is how the devil operates, and I understood. I was expecting more of a suspense horror but it wasn't like that, in fact, it was rather funny. Ironically the devil isn't the real bad guy here. It's an awfully wierd psychological fantasy into hell after Ignatius loses heaven with Merrin Williams. Ig learns that he can compel people to confess their dirty secrets and draws them to do terrible things. Indeed the devil is portrayed more accurately than Joe Black.


Just FYI. I listened to the book on audio and I finished it in less than 24 hours.
