Bound to Remember by Lola James

Bound to Remember (Spellbound, #1)Bound to Remember by Lola James

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Toni Hollander is a doctor who has the job of introducing their new head surgical nurse around the hospital. His name is Benjamin Slaton and is also a vampire. Toni doesn't remember things she should've known because her memories were taken by a witch.

I thought there were too many spelling errors and major editing mistakes

My Review : The King (The Black Dagger Brotherhood # 12)

The King (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #12)The King by J.R. Ward
Audio
Narrated by : Jim Frangione
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This is how the Epilogue and first chapter felt like... In the words of J.R Ward: "...she tried to pull something worth hearing out of her ass." Ugh! what nonsense and Wrath's treatment of Beth was horrible! On top of it all I can't stand the narrator, Jim Frangione. He keeps pronouncing Xcor like Score when the X should be silent and Xhex like Zhex when it should be pronounced Hex. Not to mention Trez ugh! I always pronounced it like tray. Who the hell says Trèz? Jeez louise.

What a terrible start to book #12. There was a time when I chewed these books up one after another cause I couldn't get enough but I guess that's what happens when you have to wait so long. You fall out of love. I love the black dagger brotherhood but who the hell is Abalone? and why should the glymera want him as King? I thought Xcor wanted to usurp the throne? wtf man? I am one who happened to like the Band of Bastards. I didn't see them as bad, only Old School. The Lessers however are just annoying and stupid just like the Omega. I can recall only one incident in The King where a lesser gets wiped out.

Relationships between Xcor and Layla, Assail and Sola aka Marisol, Trez and Selena left us hanging cause honestly, there just isn't enough space to write about them in a book that is supposed to be about Beth and Wrath!*eyeroll* In fact what I dislike most about J.R. Wards writings, particularly of the BDB, is that she crams too many stories into one. I also had no interest in reading about Wrath's parents. I found it grueling and to think I waited a year for this?!! Never again. I'm going to wait until the next one is in paperback and more affordable.

Life of a Blogger: Food

Life of a Blogger is a weekly feature, created by Novel Heartbeat. A new topic is posted each week, typically on Thursdays but you can post any day. For more info and future post topics check it out here.

This weeks topic: FOOD

I EAT RAW FOOD

I love food and because of that I struggle with my weight. I can eat more than anybody but lately I've been trying to lose weight by eating more raw food - incorporating more fresh fruit and vegetables and nuts and seeds.

I SOAK MY NUTS

I also enjoy sprouting seeds and I basically listen to the raw food gurus when it comes to soaking your nuts before you eat them. My favorite nuts are almonds and cashews. They come in handy when you need a low fat salad dressing.

CARBS & PROTEIN

Although I've found beans as a good healthy alternative to meat, meat is still my number one choice for protein. The type of meat I eat consists of...: chicken, beef, hamburger, tuna, and sardines. That's it. Sardines are high in Omega-3's. Anyway I still eat rice and pasta cause that's how I roll . I prefer egg noodles and chow mein.

PROCESSED FOOD

I stay away from all packaged food except the frozen vegetables and fruit obviously. As long as the product is strictly corn, or green beans, or strawberries for example , than I'm good. Anything processed or that contain scientifical ingredients I avoid like the plague . Most GMO and artificial flavors are written in the  product and all these things can make you fat and/or cause cancer or some other health problem one way or another.

FOOD PREPARATION

I use a blender and a juicer and a spiral slicer or mandolin when I prepare food. I have a lemon squeezer that I love and a tea pot that I recently purchased because adding herbal tea to my diet can't be a bad thing. My tea of choice is Zhena's Gypsy Tea. I love making spaghetti noodles from zucchinis and eating spaghetti squash sometimes.

SNACK FOOD

NatureBox.com has a promotion deal going on right now where you can order a box of healthy snacks and get 50% off your order .  I'm a Shaytards fan and according to  them the snacks are really good so don't hesitate. It may be what you are looking for idk.

Ok well that's all for now folks! Thanks for listening.

If You Desire (MacCarrick Brothers#2)

If You Desire (MacCarrick Brothers, #2)If You Desire by Kresley Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's hard to say which couple I liked most out of this trilogy. They all had their special quirks but if I had to choose it would be Hugh and Jane.

The only obstacle that stood in between Hugh and Jane was the dreaded Curse and it was the most infuriating part about If You Desire. They both clearly loved each other from the start.

Since the day Jane and Hugh arrived at Courtland's house it was sweet, full of fun and humor. It was funny to see Jane learn a few things like how not to use Kerosene to wax the floors.

The fact that Jane knew how to use a bow and arrow kinda reminded me of Katniss Everdeen. Anyway she was brave and capable of defending herself . She actually saved Hugh's life from Grey. Ya what a psycho he was.

I just like this story .

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2)

This week I finished

The Eternity Cure (My Review) by Julie Kagawa.

I am currently reading

Hard As You Can (Hard Ink, #2)Hard As You Can by Laura Kaye and I can't put it down which means I will be finished it real soon. So far though, Crystal is embarrassed of the scars she bears on her back which inhibits her from getting too affectionate with Shane.  Whatever trouble she's in is because of her father. Shane wants to help her and she is falling in love with him .

If You Desire (MacCarrick Brothers, #2) I plan on reading

If You Desire - The 2nd installment in the MacCarrick Brother's Trilogy by Kresley Cole. I love these books.  I had to order #2 because the dollar store only had #1 and #3 .
I hate when that happens.
Don't you hate when a book isn't available in the bookstores?

Just A Suggestion

If you ever come across a book you want while browsing in second hand bookstores , get it while you can, because it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity

The Eternity Cure [Blood Of Eden #2]

The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2)The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In The Eternity Cure, Ally is forced in one direction, determined to find her master, who she thinks is in serious danger. Along the way she encounters her blood brother, Jackal, who killed all of Zeke's family ,and they agree on working together to find and rescue their master Kanin ,who they believe is alive but is suffering. Indeed he is and they know Sarren is responsible.

Sarren is a psycho vamp who had been experimented on and tortured by the human scientists in order to find a cure for Rabidism and Red Lung disease and that is why he went crazy. He is vengeful and dangerous

Ahhhh! The Eternity Cure is a dark and dangerous scene , where there is only one safe place to be . In the towers of the Vampire Prince Salazar's city. Outside there are mole men and zombie infested humans running around who will infect you.

No Prince Charming Cover Reveal

I'm excited to reveal the cover for a new series by best-selling author Angel Payne and Victoria Blue!

COVER DESIGN by  parajunkee

ABOUT No Prince Charming:

“Once upon a time, there was a girl who dressed up and went to a big party at the palace. There, she met a prince. They danced and fell in love…”

Damn good line. Too bad I don’t believe a word of it anymore.

My name is Claire Montgomery, and I’m not a princess. I’m a fighter. I worked hard to earn my place on the emergency image repair team for one of the biggest public relations companies in the country. We’ve been called to the renowned Chicago headquarters of Stone Global Corporation, where it’s our job to clean up a heap of the Stone family’s filthiest laundry. Our success will be the biggest victory of my career. I’m on my game. I’m ready. Why doesn’t “ready” include a contingency plan for Killian Stone?

My name is Killian Stone. They call me the “enigma of Miracle Mile,” and that’s the way I like it. Elite tycoons want into my bank account. Their wives and daughters want into my pants. They’ll all do anything for a piece of the enigma—until a crack in the castle is too huge for anyone to ignore. What they all don’t know is that I’m thrilled about the fissure. Their fascination with the scandal means nobody will look at the bigger secret of the Stone family. I’m safe.

Until Claire Montgomery walks through my doors.

Her honesty, her bravery, her humor…they pull me in, a prism against the gray walls of my tower. I’m captivated. For the very first time, I long to shed the enigma. To share my secret. But what the hell will that get me? Even if she fits the slipper I offer…I’m no Prince Charming.

Hi there. I’m Angel: book lover, hopeless romantic, pop culture geek, shoe addict, coffee-aholic, and occasional vinophile, too.

I’ve been hooked on books since I was a kid but it all got worse in my twenties, when I discovered romances—-the hotter, the better. Growing up in Southern California, with lots of surfer-type manliness surrounded me, certainly didn’t help to assuage the need for reading about delicious alpha guys and the women who adore them. When I learned I had a knack for telling these stories too, I guess you could say I was doomed, though my path toward erotic romance novelist took a few detours via a concert-reviewing gig for my college newspaper (free show tickets…backstage passes…that was sort of a no-brainer), artist interviews for a Beverly Hills dance music mag, and a very, very bad try at a Young Adult novel (don’t ask; it’s not pretty). These days, I still live in California, and have found an amazing alpha guy of my own who was brave enough to marry me. We live on a street that looks like Brigadoon, with our beautiful daughter and a crazy dog. I have the best life ever, and never forget to thank the Big Guy Upstairs for it, either.

What do you think of the design? I think of Fifty Shades of Grey
