A Zombie Movie

We just watched Dead Snow . My boyfriend thought it was funny. I thought it was pretty good. No one survived so I guess there isn't going to be a sequel. Only the zombies survive and they are Nazi . I like the snow.

Seven medical students go on a weekend vacation to a cabin in the mountains. The cabin belonged to Sara but she ends up dead even before they get there. Some old man comes knockin and tells them the scary truth about the Nazis in that region during the war. He tells them they were greedy bastards that stole from everyone and killed them. Turns out the Nazi zombies are now looking for their stolen loot when they start attacking the students one after the other. The only sex scene happens in an outhouse right before she gets killed.

I'd like to say this book was even better than the first but I can't. Daughter of Smoke and Bone was amazing btw. Days of Blood and Starlight was an unhappy and grim experience. Eretz is frought with danger and..... was a war zone.
I don't think Karou was happy even though she mentions to Zuzanna in a letter that she was *shrugs. It was a lie. She was alone and living in fear of the monster Thiago.
I felt she had abandoned all hope of her's and Akiva's dream of a better way to live.
I think Karou was mainly atoning for her sins.
She felt responsible for the killing of her family and now she had to bring them back.
She took on the role of resurrectionist. I wasn't happy about it because I thought she could've had a better life in the human world.
Brimstone had left her an inheritance even, and she had mad art skills and friends back in Prague whom she left behind.
I guess I understood why she felt she had to bring back her family but the dead soldiers? ugly as they are, did Thiago have to threaten her to do it? No? Was she crazy!?? It's like she was choosing war over a promising future in human society.
In some ways I wish she never found out who she really was.
Being Madrigal of Kirin was her past but we don't live in the past ! We live in the present and she was now Karou! Karou means Hope.

Her problem was her guilt and now she was angry, dark and blind too UGH! All she was doing was raising an army of creatures! I didn't like it as much as Prague. Sorry Laini. Don't get me wrong I love desert sand and couscous and and the Kasbah, but in what way is the real world like Eretz? Those creatures don't belong in the human world obviously. If the world knew these creatures existed they would shoot them first. We know the land of Eretz has no such high caliber weapons and thank the gods for that! By the end Akiva had yet to seal the portals between worlds so that the monsters won't get our weapons. Karou has to decide which world she wants to live in. She chooses to stay in Eretz *sigh UGH! I am very disappointed about that  cuz she's not the creature she once was. She's human now and belongs in my world.

Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Sneek Peak

We can expect to see the movie released on August 23, 2013 . I am a fan of the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Device series just not fanatic about waiting. I finished the books in no time. Read my review of City of Bones. Looking forward to this movie .

Tell Me Something:

What kinds of paranormal creatures do you wish you could read more of? Are there any that you think are overdone?

There is one paranormal creature that I haven't read more about . Werecats. I've only seen them in Rachel Vincent's Shifter series. I think they are pretty cool and can fight really well but they are helpless when it comes to those birds. What are they again?


Thunderbirds! Another paranormal creature and they are awesome! They have a large upper torso with short tiny legs but when they shapeshift they have talons and a beac with a gigantic wing span of course, and live high up on a mountain in a big birdhouse lol.

Speaking about strange paranormal creatures, Thiago and Brimstone and Madrigal from Daughter of Smoke and Bones are wierd. They call themselves the Chimaera but I think when it comes to Thiago and Brimstone they are part demon as well. I've never heard of the chimaera before but in the book they have horns like a goat.

I like fantasy creatures such as the Centaur. I've seen them in Harry Potter and The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe.  I would also like to read more about Pegasus related creatures. I think it would be cool to have a horse that flies and be able to ride it like Hercules did.

Neaera

I don't know the difference between a nymph and a faery yet but we don't hear too much about Nymphs. I was a dark nymph once for halloween. Faeries are way popular from Lord of the Rings to Karen Marie Monings Fever Series. I like them but we don't need more of them . We don't need more Angels either . Heck there were a lot of fairy folk in H.P. Mallory's Jolie Wilkins series too.

J.L Bryan writes a good faery tale in his series Songs of Magic. I would also like to see more of Mermaids and Mermans. The only one I've read about is the popular Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Half man/woman half fish I guess :)

When she attempts suicide by ingesting some of her mothers pills , Death comes knocking at her door in the form of a postman . literally. She answers the door and was given a package with the idea she was Famine. Inside the package were the Scales.

She, Lisabeth Lewis, seventeen and anorexic and suicidal and uncertain of her own path- she'd done something that mattered. She'd ignored her own pain and had helped others.
