A Stupid Movie- Saturday Centus

Jenny Matlock
My 100 word essay based on a prompt .

WEEK 5 PROMPT

I settled into the comfortable movie theater seat with awkward 3D glasses perched on my nose, a small tub of popcorn on my lap, and a bottle of water lodged into the seat holder,
anxiously waiting for the movie I had planned all month for.

I had first heard good things about it on Oprah. Then, my church said a few things about it , which didn't really mean anything to me anymore lol (just kidding). Some other blogger wrote about it and said it made her cry :/
So I decided that I was going to see if all these things were true . I can honestly say , if it wasn't for the popcorn and the comfortable seat in the theater and the 3D glasses, this movie would have been a complete waste of time . Yeah , Avatar is IMO a stupid movie. I never got to see the ending but I had made up my mind already .

  1. Have not seen it, and probably won't. I've heard good and bad things, but I prefer mysteries (as you probably guessed lol) and comedies. Nice use of the prompt, all that anticipation followed by crashing disappointment! Kathy

  2. I went to see it because of all the hype and reall thought it was like a children's movie FernGully I watched with my students only in 3D!I was not impressed at all.

  8. Oh dear. Wonderful story, Jackie but sad that you have the blues after seeing the movie.
I could not understand the whole concept so I did not see it but I am definitely seeing Twilight although they do not have Edward in 3D. LOL

  10. I am so glad I waited until it came out on DVD. I think I might still be kicking myself if I paid to see the theatrical release!

    Nice job on the prompt!

  11. This was really smart putting a review in for the prompt. I was wondering about all the hype for the movie and how it was. It really isn't my kind of movie though. Great job.

  12. Hi Jackie! Good, interesting take on the prompt! (I guess this is a true story, and not fiction?)
I'm sure it doesn't matter, either, does it for this Saturday Centus? Since I'm new to it, I wasn't really sure...but writing is writing!! Good job!
