This is a weekly meme hosted by
Sheila@Book Journey where we share the books we are reading now, the ones we read last week, and what we hope to read .
Last week I finished
THE IRON DRUID SERIES
by Kevin Hearne. It was a blast. Oberon, the hounddog and Atticus the Irish Druid, are fun characters and his apprentice, the beautiful and smart Granuaile, made Atticus a real man [if you know what I mean *wink wink]
I am currently reading
HUNTED
but I lost interest 3/4 of the way through it because it's a bit of a drag. I admit that after they cross the English Channel hunted down by two goddesses of the hunt, Artemis and Diana it got a little boring. *update I cried and I laughed
I haven't figured out what
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS
is yet however. If I wanted a little bit of reality I would attend an Anonymous meeting of some sort jeesh. The protagonist has cancer and so does all her friends . She happens to have Thyroid cancer and has trouble with her lungs where she needs an oxygen tank to breathe. Ugh! that would be so terrible. The boy she met in support group and really, really, really likes is Augustus. He has a prosthetic leg. This other guy named Isaac has eye cancer and is going blind.
This book is not what I expected. I heard that it was voted best book of 2012..... however, I don't feel that way. I may feel different when I'm done though.
DREAMING OF BEAUTY
by Kristen White is based on the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty . So far it's a cute YA story I'm enjoying ok.
I plan on reading
MORE ON KINDLE
. Maybe
A Shade of Vampire 2 by Bella Forrest or
War of the Fae: Book 1 (The Changelings) by Elle Casey
Love the Iron Druid Chronicles, hopefully Hunted will be on its way to me soon!
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to read Kevin Hearne's series but am getting side-tracked by review books. I haven't ever read a book by John Greene. I know he has legions of fans but his books sound depressing to me. Come see what I did last week here. Happy reading this week!
ReplyDeleteThe Iron Druid series sounds good! I am a fan of anything Irish. :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot about The Fault of Our Stars by John Green. I can see where it might be hard to get through. One day I'm going to give it a try. Checked it out of the library once, but had to take it back without even opening it. Happy Reading week.
