Praying with Mary

W
hen we contemplate Jesus, and pray to God the best way to do so is through Mary . When we pray the Hail Mary , we should pray it slowly, and with the heart ; heartfelt in other words, meaning every word we say , so God can feel you, because HE IS ALIVE and the minute His name is uttered or intonated, His ear is stuck on your lips.

The bible teaches us lip service is vain repetition and not good . It isn't the persevering and persistant prayer that is vain but praying with the lips only and not with the heart. Jesus prayed three times the same thing but each time he said the same prayer it was more deeper and heartfelt, so ours must be.

The name of Jesus is powerful and the word is sharper than a two-edged sword , capable of driving evil spirits away so repeating His Name over and over isn't vain repetition unless we are saying it only with our lips . We must believe He exists and believe with the heart . It is the heart where all kinds of evil comes from and it is the heart where Jesus Our Lord wants to live . Yes we have to invite Him in to our hearts . I think of the prayers of the rosary sometimes as a cleansing of all the bad stuff inside us along with the help and aid of the Holy Spirit of course but you have to invoke the Holy Spirit in your prayers also.

Mary and the Serpent

Listen to Michael Voris present this exciting talk about the Enmity (hatred) between the serpent and the woman of which we read in Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel."

Sundays Gospel- The Wedding at Cana

This Sundays Scripture Study [click on the current study tab] we read in the Gospel about The Wedding at Cana. The following in green are my answers to the review questions.

1. Jesus is not yet known as a miracle worker, so why does Mary approach him (verse 3)? He was her Master, that's why.lol IDK, What do you learn about Jesus’ relationship with his Mother from this story? Well up until Jesus was called to His mission and when the time came for him to go into the world, he was Mary's Son, submissive to His mother but at the wedding of Cana, he was no longer subject to her but to His mission and His Father. The good ties to His mother were broken. They were spiritual bonds now, higher ones. See the Poem of the Man-God for a detailed explanation. Near the bottom of the page, Jesus explains it.

2. How does Jesus’ use of the word “woman” (v. 3) point to a parallel between Eve and Mary (Genesis 3:15; John 19:26-27; Revelation 12:1-6, 13-14)? Eve was the mother of all humanity; Mary is to be the 'spiritual' mother of all mankind. Should it be seen as a sign of disrespect—or a sign of honor and election? Mary is the "Holy Mother." The woman is what He called her after becoming The Servant of God. It had a higher meaning and meant no disrespect at all but one of honor. See CCC § 2618

3. What associations might be attached to the headwaiter's expression “the good wine” in verse 10 (Isaiah 25:6; Amos 9:13; John 6:53; 1 Corinthians 10:16; Revelation 19:7-9)? The “wine of the new
covenant” and the “bread of life” which Jesus provides for his disciples in the Lord’s Supper or Eucharist. It also points to the Messianic banquet which Jesus will provide at the end of the age when he comes again in glory.

4. This “sign” (verse 11) is the first of seven that will be highlighted in John’s Gospel (see Introduction to John in the NAB). What “sign” led you (or is leading you) to put your faith in Jesus? The woman clothed with the Sun in Revelation 12:1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. Mary is The Woman.

5. How unconditionally do you do whatever Jesus tells you to do (verse 5)? Not often enough. Do you ever try to place limits on what he can tell you to do? I am human, and with that comes fear and laziness, so I tend to limit God all the time. What spiritual gifts has he given to you and to those around you to help carry out his will (see Second Reading)? I have not utilized those gifts mentioned in 1 Cor 12:4-11. I could have otherwise a word of wisdom and knowledge for you :P I fail, I know.

It's time to pull up my boots straps! Think?!

Why is Mary appearing all over the world?

Jesus tells us it is because He is sending her to prepare us for His second coming . He said that He came through her the first time , and He will come again through her the second time .

Apparitions and visions - Let the seers and prophets speak

The language of the cross may be illogical to those who are not on the way to salvation, but those of us who are on the way see it as God's power to save. 1cor 1:18

There has been talk about Mary appearing in Cairo, Egypt this past December of 2009 . She looks like the Woman adorned with the Sun in Revelations 12:1 . You can find the details and videos of the apparitions HERE if the videos aren't showing .

A Pillar of Fire by night to guide your step

A cloud and/or Sun to illuminate your dreadful gloom by day (Rev 12:1)

I think this is very interesting
The vision behind the name
Exodus 13:21-22
‘GOD went ahead of them in a Pillar of Cloud during the day to guide them on the way, and at night in a Pillar of Fire to give them light; thus they could travel both day and night. 22 The Pillar of Cloud by day and the Pillar of Fire by night never left the people.’

Perhaps one of the most spectacular and sustained miracles of the Israelite’s wanderings in the wilderness was the continuous presence of 'The Pillar of Cloud by day and the Pillar of Fire by night'

God promises that Israel will again experience this in the times of their restoration.

Isaiah 4:5 Then GOD will bring back the ancient cloud by day and the blazing fire by night and mark Mount Zion and everyone in it with his glorious presence, his immense, protective presence, 6 shade from the burning sun and shelter from the driving rain. (Jesus calls Mary a Pillar of blazing fire by night to guide your step, and by day a Sun to illuminate your dreadful gloom;)

In Nehemiah we are told that the Pillars were to give direction and lead them in the right way and to protect them. The manifest presence of God led them through the wilderness in much the same way that the Holy Spirit will lead God’s people now as they yield to Him.
