Holiday Themed Book Challenge

I just happen to have some Christmas e-books on my computer to read and am ecstatic it won't be long before I get a kindle . There was snow a blizzard today and now the air is clean as white . I ♥ snow cause it brightens up the dark .

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

In order to participate in this meme , participants are asked to write about what they have currently read in the past week and what they are reading now and what they hope to read in the coming week. You'll find many avid book bloggers and readers , and they are quite awesome I might add, who share their reviews . I like it because it gives me incentive to read more and practice my writing skills. It can't get any better than that. 

A priest once gave me some advice . He told me that I should read more books and write about them . I don't know why it has taken me so long . Honestly, I have never read that many books before and I have next to no writing skills . My desire to write was sparked with sheer motivation and determination and has lit a fire deep in my belly but I realized that blogging wasn't that easy and in order to write words that made sense on a blank screen I needed inspiration . Trusting in the advice the priest had given me I ardently look forward to accomplishing the task , because I have found a venue that will help motivate me. This is 'My Book Journey' however small the steps might be.

On My Shelf

This week I finished Pierced By A Sword by Bud MacFarlane .

Now I'm rereading Conceived Without Sin .

Will read House of Gold . I hope to write my review on this book in the coming week :)

Ok so as you may have guessed these books are directly related and centered around Mary . The Mother of the Son of God and our mother also . You might surmise that I am Catholic. In the book pierced by a sword , there was a mormon character , John Lanning, who converted to catholicism and I kinda felt sad for him because of his former fellow mormons who were out to destroy him . I must admit this book doesn't portray mormons in a good way as I personally have known them to be beautiful people . Anyway , I had never heard the name they called fallen away non practicing mormons before; Jack Mormon . I would say rather reluctantly that I am a Jack Catholic , but I do hope no one is going to condemn me for that .

O I almost forgot to mention that I won the privilege of choosing an item from the Reading Cafe Grab Shelves! I picked The Miracles of Santo Fico by D.L. Smith for having visited 10 or more other monday meme participants . Yay! It has been an exciting week and I have a lot to be thankful for as I look forward to the weeks ahead.

If I Had 10 Years to Live

hich would you rather regret , what you did? Or what you didn't do?

I would certainly add more life to my days. Which makes me think , what is stopping me from doing that anyway? Do I need to wait until I'm on my death bed to live life to the fullest?

If I only had ten more years to live, I would get married and undo the knot in my fallopian tubes that is stopping me from having more children. I needn't worry about them not having their mother cause by worrying it won't add years to my life anyway .

I would start taking control of my health; lose weight , exercise , fast twice a week, change my diet to eating only raw food, stop smoking, grow my own food, get a water purifier, pray more rosaries , attend daily mass and adoration once or twice a week.

Those are just a few things I would do differently. I also think I would like to take a creative writing course or perhaps get a MA in English and GET A REAL LIFE!

What book am I thankful for?

Thanks to a tweet from @twimom101, I was directed to this wonderful book giveaway at Beth Revis' blog . All's we are asked to do is share a book we are thankful for.

haven't read nearly as much in my lifetime as most of you probably have, so I definitely need to win these books.... If I must say which book I am most thankful for then it would have to be the Smurfs (schtroumpfs in french) and Peeweet (Pirlouit in french) .

The Smurfs and the Magic Flute is awesome :) At the same time there was Johan and Pirlouit. Had I not read these graphic books I would probably not have as much love for the English language or reading and writing as I do. So kudos for comic books! I started school in french so most of my reading in English was through comic books and I still like to read childrens books from great authors like Robert Munsch. Anyway.... I also loved Ivanhoe as a kid .

The book gets a thumbs down . I stopped reading it because it was boring but maybe someday I will finish it . At first it started out on a positive note , with Tully in some kind of lighthouse , with the prospect of renovating it for a certain 101 year old battle axe lady called, Cleopatra Highbourne. It seemed to drag on and on and I am not into baseball or fishing . I got bored with it and since I am not obliged to finish reading it, I am taking it back to the library .
