#AtoZchallenge —G is for —The Last Greenseer

From the Shadow Lands beyond Asshai to the Shores of Dragonstone and the frozen lands beyond the Wall comes the 10th anniversary of the AtoZ challenge...

Warning: There may be spoilers

 Godswood

I don't know why the first men believed in the same gods of the children of the forest but they and their trees are kind of creepy. They carved faces of men into their weirwood trees and made a pact with the first men to never cut them down.

Still, in the North, the descendants of the First Men worship the old gods to this day, and the sacred faces of the weirwood trees keep close watch over the faithful. Beyond the Wall, the old Gods are the only gods. So long as the trees remain in the land, the Gods have power.
The three-eyed raven hides in the roots of a weirwood, north of the wall near the haunted forest. He's creepy AF too. He is the last Greenseer with the magical ability to see into the past, present and future.

Most of him has gone into the tree ... He has lived beyond his mortal span, and yet he lingers. For us, for you, for the realms of men. Only a little strength remains in his flesh. He has a thousand eyes and one, but there is much to watch. One day you will know.—Leaf, to Bran Stark

The Last Greenseer aka The Three-eyed Raven aka creepy old man that sees you when you're sleeping
The more I learn the more I think the three-eyed crow and the children of the forest are bad. I don't know how the Night King will be defeated only George R. Martin can solve that, but mysteries and secrets in Game of Thrones are as numerous as the gods.

Can you guess who the letter is?

He is the only living son of Balon Greyjoy and heir to the Iron Islands. When he was in Ramsay's captivity, he was called Reek.

F is for—Fighting for the Free Folk — #AtoZchallenge

From the Shores of Dragonstone to the cold icy lands beyond the Wall comes the 10th anniversary of the AtoZ challenge...

Fighting for the Free Folk

The free folk are a race of people who live beyond the Wall. They are more commonly referred to as Wildlings. Ygritte and Tormund Giantsbane are examples of free folk. They don't bend the knee to anyone and Jon may be a bit envious of that. If he hadn't joined the Night's Watch he probably never would have found the wildlings. All they want is to be safe on the other side of the Wall before the white walkers kill them all. The Freefolk aren't the enemies but the army of the dead are the real enemy. They want to be where the dead aren't, because Winter's coming. The Night King is amassing a great army and they aren't taking any prisoners.

This is how Jon and Ygritte meet. . .

. . .When Lord Commander Jeor Mormont leads a Night Watch party on a ranging expedition, it's to gain intelligence on the wildlings, the White Walkers, and whatever else is out there. He learns from his ally, Craster, that the wildlings have formed an army, led by Mance Rayder, a former Night's Watch ranger, who is referred to as the 'King-Beyond-the-Wall by his followers. Mormont's steward, Jon Snow, forms a group that separates from the main ranging party to track down wildling scouts.

Meanwhile, on lookout duty in the Skirling Pass, Ygritte encounters the Night's Watch.

Hunting for wildling lookouts in the Frostfang mountains beyond the Wall, Night's Watch steward Jon Snow and his comrades, led by ranger Qhorin Halfhand, ambush a wildling watch post at the Skirling Pass. I love Ygrittes bantering and when Jon couldn't kill her, she runs away and Jon chases after her. It's so funny. I love the cave her and Jon have sex in. Of course, he would freeze before she ever did.

Mance Rayder: You're telling me you saw one of them? And why would that make you desert your brothers?
Jon Snow: Because when I told the Lord Commander, he already knew. Thousands of years ago, the First Men battled the White Walkers and defeated them. I want to fight for the side that fights for the living. Did I come to the right place?

#AtoZchallenge— E is for —Eyrie

From the Shadow Lands beyond Asshai to the Shores of Dragonstone comes the 10th anniversary of the AtoZ challenge...
The Eyrie is the Seat of House Arryn located in the Vale. The Arryn's serve as
Warden of the East from their mountain stronghold which is said to be almost entirely impregnable. The castle is high enough to take advantage of locking criminals in three-walled "sky cells" that opens to a sheer drop down the mountainside. If you remember Tyrion being locked into one of those, it's an outside cell so if you don't want to die you will stay clear from the edge, because you just might fall off.
After Jon Arryn dies, Lysa returns to the Eyrie with her son Robin intending to act as defenders of the Vale. Soon after, Lady Lysa is pushed through the moon door by her new husband Littlefinger, Petyr Baelish. Robin enjoys when 'men fly' out the moon door and sucking on his mother's tit. He is a sick boy.
"Give me ten good men and some climbing spikes, I'll impregnate the bitch." -Ser Bronn of the Blackwater The Cutthroat
Can you guess who the letter is?

E is for Catelyn and Lysa's brother. He marries Roslin Frey at the Red Wedding. Roslin is without a doubt the only attractive daughter of Walder Frey and ___ wasn't expecting to be so pleased. He was an idiot. It was Robert Stark who was supposed to marry Roslin in exchange for safe passage to cross the river but that went awry. So Walder Frey had one more reason to kill Robert and Lady Catelyn. ___ and Roslin were not harmed although ___ was imprisoned in the Frey's Twin dungeon for quite awhile.

#AtoZchallenge— D is for —Dracarys!

From the Shadow Lands of Asshai to the Shores of Dragonstone comes the 10th anniversary of the AtoZ challenge...

Daenerys Targaryen has a lot of titles. Khaleesi, Mother of Dragons, heir to the Iron Throne, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, etc.. Drogon is one of her dragons born in the Dothraki sea. Its egg was black as the midnight sea, alive with scarlet ripples and swirls. He is named for her dead husband, Drogo.

Drogon is believed to be the reincarnation of Balerion the Black Dread, but Daenerys decides to give him a new name for his new life. Drogo is the largest and most aggressive of Daenerys's three dragons and she has problems reining him in.

Dracarys literally means Dragonfire in High Valyrian. It's the word Dany uses to signal to her dragon, Drogon, that she wants him to go all "evil-fire-destruction up on this bish."

#AtoZChallenge—C is for —Crows Are All Liars!

Warning: There may be spoilers

From the Shadow Lands of Asshai to the Shores of Dragonstone comes the 10th anniversary of the AtoZ challenge...

Bran Climbs the Castle Tower

The Three-Eyed Raven is a sightseer. He sees things

Bran loved to climb and one day, he is pushed out of the tower window because he saw Cersei and her brother having sex. In order to cover it up, Jamie pushes Bran out of the window. Of all the things Bran was good at, it was climbing.

He survived the fall but is paralyzed and coincidentally, is crippled. Catelyn captures Tyrion the Imp because she thinks he has something to do with Jon Arryn's death and the murder of her son Bran. But Tyrion is innocent of course and Catelyn is severely mistaken about him.
Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen are not Baratheons, so how does Robert not know that? Ned Stark knows but he fails to learn the secret before it's too late.

Crows Are All Liars

Is it possible that Old Nan meant the men of the Nights Watch?

The Wildlings called them Crows. Mance Rayder was a Crow turned King beyond the Wall. I guess it is because of their costumes. Men in long black cloaks and black fur. Ravens were used as the delivery service to get messages back and forth because they didn't have Twitter. The other theory could be that Old Nan was just trying to make Bran feel better because he truly wanted to be able to fly just like the raven in his dream/vision told him. BUT *spoiler alert* HE IS the three-eyed raven and learns to fly in that respect. Fly or Die.

#AtoZChallenge— B is for —Battle of Bastards

Warning: There may be spoilers

From the Shadow Lands of Asshai to the Shores of Dragonstone and the frozen lands beyond the Wall comes the 10th anniversary of the AtoZ challenge...
Battle of Bastards Jon VS Ramsay
"If I fall, don't bring me back." — Jon Snow

Tension is high on the horizon after Jon was brought back to life by Melisandra the red Woman and Sansa escaped captivity from her marriage to Ramsay with Theon's help. I am so happy for them.

Meanwhile, Ramsay boasts of winning the war with Stannis Baratheon, although it was Brienne of Tarth who killed him for murdering Renly Baratheon, her king.
Now Stannis and his entire retinue are dead. Sansa and Theon both have escaped and Jon receives a raven with a message from Ramsay, Lord of Winterfell. Ugh.
In it, he is basically telling Jon to return Sansa to him immediately or he will do terrible things to her while Jon watches. Ya...no. Jon won't let that happen.

Jon and Sansa team up and get as many people on board to fight against Ramsay Bolton and take back Winterfell. That is what is called the Battle of Bastards.
Sansa is able to secure the help of the men of the Vale from House Arryn, lead by Petyr Baelish and a vast number of soldiers. I love how Sansa and Jon come together as a family again after so long. More power to them.

Jon is not the kind of guy that plays Ramsay's games, so he decides to come up with a plan where nobody else needs to die. He proposes to fight Ramsay one on one. Ramsay may be a bastard but he isn't stupid. He knows Jon will win so it's back to playing games his way. It is a crucial battle and more characters die but the best thing to happen is that Sansa gets revenge on Ramsay. YAY!

Can you guess who the letter is?

Joffrey ___ is a bastard and a pissant. When he takes Sansa out for a day he picks a fight with Arya's friend Mykah and gets beat up by Arya. She was only protecting her friend. I wish I could say Sansa was on her sisters' side but I understand her decision that she didn't want to hurt her chances of ever becoming queen someday. At this point, she thinks she's in love with him. So, when Sansa tries to help, he tells her basically to screw off. Ugh. Arya is a little wild but at least she is smart not to trust the Lannisters. Her direwolf, Nymeria bites Joffrey so in order to keep Nymeria safe she forces her to run away. Sansa's wolf Lady was killed instead, at the request of the wicked queen, Cersei.
"Everyone is mine to torment."Joffrey

A is for All Men Die in A Song of Ice and Fire

#AtoZChallenge 2019 Tenth Anniversary badge
From the shores of Dragonstone to the frozen lands beyond the Wall, comes the 10th anniversary of the 2019 AtoZ Challenge . . .

Warning. There may be spoilers

All Men Die in A Song of Ice and Fire
In the prologue, three men of the nights watch go on a scouting mission to locate a group of wildlings just north of the wall. They find the bodies of the dead wildlings strewn about on the cold winter forest and crazy Icemen with icy blue eyes. "Do the dead frighten you?" Waymar Royce says. He should've paid more attention.

Fun Fact: The first scene of the series was shot in Northern Ireland and took 10 weeks to create. It was my favourite Wall scene until people started climbing it. I thought it couldn't get any better. It shows how massive and vast it is.

We learn that in the Age of Heroes, Targaryen's rode on dragons, and grumpkins and snarks are real. The people of Westeros don't believe in such things as White Walkers and that Children of the Forest are only fables. They do exist, however, on the other side of the Wall to whom the Watcher's On The Wall protects and guards Westeros against.

A song of ice and fire means a song between Rhaegar (Fire) and Lyanna (Ice), which triggers the war and everything after it. Source

R+L=J
I also think the Army of the Dead and the Night King are the ONE TRUE ENEMY and THAT war will be the ONLY WAR that matters. As Jon puts it mildly.

John Arryn was one of the first men to die in the Game of Thrones, by being poisoned. Two men of the Nights Watch, Royce and Gared got their heads chopped off by the Icemen, and Wil was beheaded by Ned Stark for being a deserter.

Let's play a game.
