'Tis the season to join Cat and Bones for some holiday cheer in this Night Huntress novella. They were looking forward to a normal holiday—at least as "normal" as it gets for vampires Cat and Bones and their otherworldly friends and family. But their yuletide plans are shattered when a mysterious stranger shows up and reveals long-buried secrets that threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer … and lives.

My Review

Home for the Holidays includes Cat aka Kitten the protagonist, Bones, Fabian the ghost, Elizabeth, Spade and Denise, Annette and Ian.

Home for the Holidays takes place at the time of Bone's 245th birthday/holiday bash surprise party. Something happens to Annette when she is late showing up for the party so Ian goes looking for her . When he finds her alive in the bathroom of her hotel room, her blood crimsoned the walls and floors everywhere, you would've thought she had been murdered but that was too good to be true as far as Cat was concerned. They weren't friends.

What I expected to be a short novella might as well have been a full length novel !

The leading up to the birthday surprise was lost in the suspense of Cat preparing for Bones to come through the door, I thought he was a burglar, lol I had no idea. I laughed out of relief that it was a happy occasion and not an ugly violent and suspenseful one.

But, the ugly suspense was to come in the form of a long lost half-brother. Wraith. He was supposed to have been a surprise from Annette but instead he had been a nightmare from hell when all was said and done.

O God! what Wraith did was unforgivable but I was impressed with Cat and Ian how they both rose to the occasion and saved their friends from Hazael the Demon.

It was Balchezek, another lesser demon who helped them remove the Demon who had possessed their friends.
