This is a weekly meme hosted at Taking on a World of Words where we answer the three questions listed below
What are you currently reading?
I am reading Scythe by Neal Shusterman.
"I love the concept that humans live forever without suffering, sickness or death. Scythe is so cool. I love this book! The author has "gleaned" bits of facts and fiction and has created a new America world."- Jackie BriereFood in Scythe: What is Hasenpfeffer
Cartoon reference: Roadrunner and wily coyote.
"Immortality has turned us all into cartoons."- from the gleaning journal of H.S. Curie
What did you recently finish reading?
History Is All You Left Me. The question is did Griffin get his history right? What do you think you’ll read next?
X-It -by Jane George. I needed to read a title that begins with the letter X for my AtoZ Reading Challenge and I found it.
I read Neal Shusterman's Unwind a couple of years ago and loved it! I think Scythe is on my TBR but I will have to go check now!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WWW.
I hope it is and that you pick it up too. I haven't read anything else of Shustermans. I think he's brilliant :)
DeleteI have been seeing Scythe everywhere! I am so interested to hear what you think when you finish. Here is my WWW https://silverbuttonbooks.com/2018/01/17/www-wednesday-january-17-2018/
ReplyDeleteI love this book, however, I could have finished it by now but my audiobook keeps cutting out so I end up having to start all over from the beginning. It's a long story. Out of frustration I went all across town just so I could have the book in my hands. It is selling out fast, I could barely find a copy in store. Of course I had to read the book from the beginning. Again. I am beginning to feel like I could memorize the damm book lol
DeleteI got excited by seeing you about to read a book starting with X, thinking Wow, almost finished the alphabet, that's swift progress on a reading challenge! But I see you're not reading in alphabetical order... However, good luck with it. I almost find the process of selecting books to fit reading challenges more exciting than the challenge itself (OK, bit of an exaggeration but you know what I mean)

Hi Cathy, yes I know what you mean. It's fun when you know you are supported and the AtoZ challenge does not stipulate the reading order so ya I figured I'd get the tough letters out of the way, first. :)
DeleteX-It does look very tempting. Enjoy your reading, and here's MY WWW POST
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurel. There were more books that started with the letter X than I imagined :) I found it on Goodreads Titles That Begin With X if anyone else wants to know.
DeleteI've just been offered Scyth this morning to review. Sounds good. - Here's my WWW - https://whisperingstories.com/www-wednesday-17th-january-2017/
ReplyDeleteOh how lucky you are and fortunate! Scythe is a cutting edge story! I loved it! Anyway I finished reading it yesterday. You can find my review on my blog or on Goodreads.
