I can't help hearing Young love by the Judds in my head. The story revolves around Dawson and Bethany. The new girl in school finds out she is surrounded by Luxen when Dawson accidentally lights up the bedroom appearing in his true form after having kissed Bethany. What choice does he have but to entrust her with the truth of who he was? When they are attacked by Arum, Dawson and Bethany disappear and are presumed dead. It ends on that cliffhanger.
I read this one after reading the Lux series so the cliffhanger had already resolved by the time I got to this which I liked otherwise I'd have lost my mind, lol.
