The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Suzanne made a promise that if her best friend Cheryl ever died that Suzanne would take care of her 3 girls. Hannah, Beth and Posy. Their parents did die in an avalanche hiking Mt. Rainier when they were young. Misfortune and favour looked on them because they couldn't have adopted a better mother than Suzanne. She is most compassionate with a caring heart and I liked her. As the three sisters got older they grew apart and would only see each other once a year at Christmastime in the highlands of Scotland. Hannah was the most problematic since she made every excuse not to come. Except for this time, both Beth and Hannah arrived early... Posy lived with her parents all year and was an active outdoor enthusiast who loved to mountain climb as her parents did. Suzanne and Stewart loved those girls and they all had strong personalities but they never really discussed and healed from what happened to their parents all those years ago.
With the prospects of budding romance for all three sisters, this novel warmed my heart.

Publisher Summary
In the snowy Highlands of Scotland, Suzanne McBride is dreaming of the perfect cozy Christmas. Her three adopted daughters are coming home for the holidays and she can’t wait to see them. But tensions are running high… Workaholic Hannah knows she can’t avoid spending the holidays with her family two years in a row. But it’s not the weight of their expectations that’s panicking her—it’s the life-changing secret she’s hiding. Stay-at-home mom Beth is having a personal crisis. All she wants for Christmas is time to decide if she’s ready to return to work—seeing everyone was supposed to help her stress levels, not increase them! Posy isn’t sure she’s living her best life, but with her parents depending on her, making a change seems risky. But not as risky as falling for gorgeous new neighbor Luke… As Suzanne’s dreams of the perfect McBride Christmas unravel, she must rely on the magic of the season to bring her daughters together. But will this new togetherness teach the sisters that their close-knit bond is strong enough to withstand…
This sounds like a nice cozy read. I've been reading quite a few festive ones over the past month but I've never read a Sarah Morgan!
ReplyDeleteOh.Hello.Nicci. I've got to do something about getting notified when there is a new comment. Thanks for reading my review! :) I've read a few Sarah Morgan novels and I like her enough to read anything she puts out. The Christmas Sisters was in audiobook form on Scribd so I got to follow along with my kindle copy I received from Netgalley, otherwise I probably wouldn't have finished it as it was fairly long. Anyway...I liked how it ended.
