Q: When you’ve read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it ?)I only have so much space in my apartment that I don't have the option of getting a bigger bookshelf so I don't have a choice BUT to get rid of 'em.
If I haven't so far it's because I only started reading and acquiring more books which I probably should decide what to do with soon.
There is only so many totes you can have to store books in also.
.........there is another solution to the problem ... Kindle ebooks ! The page I am currently reading is from Ann Voskamps :One Thousand Gifts
I too wish I had the room to hoard all the books I love.

Ebooks help save space, but then you can't look at them in all their prettiness!

But my pretty books! I'm still only 17, so I can get away with taking up a bit extra space (in the sense that I have a room with space) but i think if I move out in when I go to University then I'm going to have to tackle this problem head on. I'm dreading getting rid of books.
ReplyDeleteHopping through. Pretty bookshelf! And very smart to use a storage box.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
Oh, I can't get rid of my books. I only have one bookshelf and it's full, so most of my books are now on top of my drawer. But it's okay, I'll just build another shelf! :)
ReplyDeleteYou should put up shelves if possible! Then you donn´t have to take up floor space =)

Good idea to use storage totes. I completely sympathize with not having enough space :-(

I love your site! Very creative. Also, I agree, ebooks are much easier to keep. I do have a rather large bookshelf so it hasn't been a problem for me to keep books yet. May I ask what you do with the books? DO you give them away? Here’s my FF for the week
ReplyDeleteYes. Those books in the tote bin are free books that I've acquired, here and there, for the goodreads book challenges . I will never read them so I'm giving them away. Since I posted this two years ago my bookshelf is two rows stuffed on each shelf and I'm looking to get another bookshelf OR turn my hallway closet into a bookshelf. I wish I can show you the video I made of my bookshelf now but I don't know how to upload it to my computer.
DeleteThanks for asking
Oh yeah and I'm also following via GFC.
ReplyDeleteI am a book hoarder; I hate getting rid of them, so I organize them by genre (usually) on my shelves :) Following on Google+ and GFC :)

Aw, that's a shame about the space - but that is definitely one perk of e-readers =)
