From condemned prisoner to food taster for the Commander of Ixia, from apprentice to a charismatic assassin to warrior with ever-evolving magical powers, Yelena is a remarkable heroine like none you've ever experienced. Follow her incredible journey through Maria V. Snyder's breathtaking fantasy series, which New York Times bestselling author Mercedes Lackey calls "engaging and entirely original...fascinating in its rich detail."

From The Book Depository

Poison Study is a 2005 fantasy novel written by Maria V. Snyder and the first book in the Study series. It tells the story of a twenty-year-old girl named Yelena, who after spending just less than a year in a dungeon awaiting execution is given a chance to live on the condition that she will become the Commander's Food Taster.

From the Library

Endless Knight (The Arcana Chronicles #2) My review
Dead of Winter (The Arcana Chronicles #3) currently reading

  1. A lot of people love the Poison Study series. I hope you love all of your new books.

    Grace @ Books of Love

    1. Thanks Grace! Here's to all the books we love *raises glass*

  2. I read the first book in the Poison Study series and loved it! I think I may purchase that bundle!

    Danica @ Shelves of Spines

    1. Yay for the Study series! I have a hard time finding them in the stores so shopping online is the only option sometime. I hope you end up reading all of them. I haven't finished Poison Study yet but I'm liking it so far. Margg is despicable towards Yelena. I really don't like that woman. She's a real witch!

  3. The Study Series! I really want to get on this as well. I own the first book and then all of the spin off series. I loved the Arcana Chronicles, so I hope you do as well! Great haul. Happy Reading!

    My STS

    1. Thanks Britt! It has taken me awhile to warm up to the Arcana series. Now that I'm on the 3rd book I think I will enjoy it more. I just don't like reading apocalyptic books. Anyway I'm going to take my time with the Study Series. Have a great week!

  4. Oh man, that bundle is such a good idea! One day, I'm going to binge-read all of Snyder's books. I love YA fantasy, and I have a feeling I'll really enjoy any/all of her books. I liked Endless Knight but not so much Dead of Winter. :/ I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

    Have a fabulous weekend. =)

    Check out my STS post!

    1. The Arcana Chronicles are growing on me. So far I like Dead of Winter. I am thinking I need to read more thought inducing books of a different genre. Fantasy is fun but book classics like The Alchemist are great imo.

  5. Oh I've been wanting to check out the Poison Study series for some years now. If only I could do nothing but read :) I hope you enjoy your books!

    1. Hi Eve! For the past six years that is all I've been doing. I have a lot of time to read because I don't work.
I plan on enjoying the books I read. Have a great week!

  6. Dead of Winter looks and sounds great. And the Study Series sounds great too. I hadn't heard about that series before but I must say I like the sound of it!
Have a great week and Happy Reading!

  7. Sadly I don't know any of these, but they look great. I hope you'll enjoy them! :))

    Have a lovely week!
