Scripture Study on the Solemnity of All Saints

Ok . Here are my answers to the questions:
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14
Psalm 24:1-61
John 3:1-3
Matthew 5:1-12

  • What does each Beatitude mean to you? If you live the Beatitudes you will receive the reward of heaven and/or Eternal life.
  • What gospel value is it calling you to live? The Imitation of Christ ? I'm not sure
  • How hard or easy is it for you to live this gospel value? It's hard if you don't know Christ , so we need to get to know Him and to follow in his footsteps.
  • How would living some if not all of the beatitudes get you into trouble? you will be persecuted i.e: thrown into jail etc..
  • How would living each of the beatitudes become a blessing in your life? In this life it can give you interior peace and contentment. The CCC paragraph 1717 says "They sustain hope in the midst of tribulation"
  • What beatitude challenges you the most and perhaps even repulses you a bit? It has to be vs 11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.... I don't like when people speak evil of me or say bad things about me. I usually avoid it if I can .
  • Which Beatitude makes you feel most uncomfortable? vs 10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven."- I don't like pain and suffering . I guess I would need strong faith to endure strong trials of persecution like the saints and martyrs did.
  • Which one is most puzzling? vs 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - why is being poor in spirit such a good thing? I thought we are supposed to bear a lot of fruit by living in the spirit ? fruits of the spirit like, joy, peace, patience, kindness, perseverence etc...To me if you live in the spirit and you aren't bearing fruit , the bible says, that every tree that does not bear fruit will be cut down and burned in the fire . So which is it? Bearing fruit that will last or being poor in spirit? Are they contradictive? Is poverty of spirit , a gift of the Holy Spirit and/or a fruit? Not that I know of . I still believe it but it is puzzling , that's all.
  • Which one do you feel called to develop more in your life? Why? For me it seems to have been the mourning one. I have lost a lot in my life and my sorrows are Mary's sorrows, and in my grief I also have been comforted . So it's "Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted." This is true in my life anyway.
  • Overall, what are the Beatitudes calling you to live in your life? they are calling us to live like Christ .
  • How can living the Beatitudes allow you to live more in imitation of Jesus and his holy ones, the Saints? They allow us to live happy with interior peace and contentment in this life. The CCC paragraph 1721 says: "God put us in the world to know, to live, and to serve him, and so to come to paradise. Beatitude makes us "partakers of the divine nature" and of eternal life. With beatitude, man enters into the glory of Christ and into the joy of the Trinitarian life.
I hope this is of some benefit , as it is for me , and that you try to answer the questions for yourselves  Also the discussion for this weeks sunday scripture study is on Vince Contreras blog.
Pray the Rosary everyday for Our Lady's intentions.
God Bless You.

Make Your Own Flu Vaccine - funny

I received this in my email. This is something on the flu shot that’s a little on the lighter side. It’s guaranteed to make you smile if not laugh out loud. Laughter is great for stimulating the immune system :)

Build up immune system NOT with the 'Swine Flu' Vaccine

Thanks to a lady who I met through a friend of mine, I have been getting information on all kinds of things in my inbox regarding the flu vaccine lately. Her website is http://www.awesomerawsome.com/.

I didn't know anything about the flu vaccine, just that I hadn't got one, and probably never will. I have had all my other immunizations as a child and much more, as I was born overseas and to travel to other countries you need to have your immunizations up to date. I remember that well. It is probably why I am immune to needles now lol. They don't bother me, but I never questioned, what I was getting. They told us the name but that was about it, and I'm not dead :)

It is kinda mandatory in Canada to get your baby vaccinated. I didn't think we had a choice on that, and I still don't know if we do or not. It would seem that those who don't, are being rebellious or something. Although the Amish people don't get those vaccines, and they are perfectly healthy :/ Anyway in the email I received, it said according to this link, which doesn't work and appears to be non-existent, a Medical Doctor tells us what is in the swine flu vaccine. Let us just say it was Dr. Mercola:

aluminum hydroxide
aluminum phosphate
ammonium sulfate
amphotericin B
animal tissues: pig blood, horse blood, rabbit brain,
dog kidney, monkey kidney,
chick embryo, chicken egg, duck egg
calf (bovine) serum
beta-propiolactone
fetal bovine serum
formaldehyde
formalin
gelatin
glycerol
human diploid cells (originating from human aborted fetal tissue)
hydrolized gelatin
monosodium glutamate (MSG)
neomycin
neomycin sulfate
phenol20red indicator
phenoxyethanol (antifreeze)
potassium diphosphate
potassium monophosphate
polymyxin B
polysorbate 20
polysorbate 80
porcine (pig) pancreatic hydrolysate of casein
residual MRC5 proteins
sorbitol
sucrose
thimerosal (mercury)
tri(n)butyl phosphate e,
VERO cells, a continuous line of monkey kidney cells
washed sheep red blood cells

Would you put these things in your body???
Personally, I have put way too much harmful things in my body by the way I eat already, unfortunately, and I would rather not catch the virus, to begin with, and learn healthier ways of living. We should and can prevent getting sick by building up our immune system naturally.

How to Prevent the Flu Naturally- says Dr. Mercola

For most people the flu shot does not make you healthy; it does just the opposite, as it weakens your immune system. It appears that some of you in the medical field are beginning to catch on to this, with less than 40 percent of health care workers getting flu shots in 2006.
The truth is, if you follow a healthy lifestyle, you will not have to worry about getting the flu.

Here are a few key steps to stay flu-free:

•Get plenty of the sunshine or vitamin D

•Eat right for your nutritional type, including avoiding sugar

Exercise

•Get adequate sleep

•Address emotional stress

Wash your hands regularly

A healthy immune system is our best defense… along with plenty of rest, exercise and fresh air and Vitamin D, and stay active!

The following is a prophetic message via John Leary.

Jesus said: My people, medicine over the years has made some great strides in improving your life expectancy, and curing diseases that killed many people.

In today's world the desire to make money has taken over your drug industry.

Some would rather heal you JUST ENOUGH so you keep coming back to pay for more expensive pills.

Some children have even had bad effects from putting MERCURY PRESERVATIVES in vaccines (see above) so the vaccines would not have to be refrigerated.

Manipulation of DNA has also caused many bad side effects in the artificial medicines, that man makes WHICH ARE POISONS IN THE BODY.

There is a more DEVIOUS USE OF VIRUSES for the one world people, that viruses could be manipulated to affect various races or ethnic groups.

By eliminating some preferred parts of the population, they would not gain money but EASIER CONTROL over fewer people. (continued below )

Listen to the Finnish Minister of Health speak out about the make believe flu pandemic

the message continued........
The evil of the death culture is so diabolical, that the one world people would resort to any means, such as chemtrails, to kill off millions of people, while they had the vaccine for these killer viruses.

Be PREPARED AND ALERT to the drugs and viruses created by the death culture people.

BUILD UP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEMS WITH HAWTHORN, HERBS, AND VITAMINS.

These are a much BETTER SOURCE of keeping your health in alternative medicines, than many of man's drugs that only treat symptoms and not the cause of the problem.

It is the POISONS AND MULTIPLE INTERACTIONS, that are causing many of the side effects of your medicines, which eventually hurt your organs as the liver and the kidneys.

Jesus says to Trust in Him to give you good advice on your health, and how best to keep you from being exploited for profit. Jesus I Trust in Thee!

The Safest diet

The safest diet is fruit, grains, and vegetables in their most natural forms.

Supplement your diet with NATURAL vitamins, minerals, and herbs. These are processed to make them pure, and nothing is added to preserve them or to enhance their flavor. By doing so, your body will receive a better-balanced nutrition to keep you in better health.

Watch too every thing you drink. Chemicals are used in water, which is the necessary ingredient for all beverages, to destroy germs and toxins. Purchase [bottled] water for human and, if possible, animal consumption. Read the label for any additives. It must be pure as possible.
And remember to bless your meals, your food, and drink, in Jesus' Name. Thank Him for all He gives you. Praise and thank Him for everything and live in His Love.

I was on Gary Null's website, and I found this. I am having a hard time finding a good vitamin and mineral supplement. Click here for more info.

They are JUST kids!

By that I mean they are upright kids. Listening to them made me cry for my own sins. I could wish that I was smart like them when I was a kid , even now ! as an adult! Wow, they are truly amazing , and it is nice to see there are some kids like that still. You should listen to the video , I just had to share it .

Carving a Pumpkin

I love seeing all the little kids dressed up in their costumes when they come to my door, and I enjoy giving them candy and hearing Trick or Treat. Halloween is for kids really. Not so much as we got older, seeing buses get egged and hearing all the terrible stories like putting razor blades in apples and kids raiding other kids' candy =( it's not my thing. In fact, now, I hate all those ugly things about it, that remind us of the great archenemy the devil.
I edited this post because I never really loved Halloween, I only loved getting the candy, and even that rots your teeth and is not healthy for ya so...
But, this year my husband wanted me to carve a recycle logo on a pumpkin because he works at a recycling plant. So, I found this website really helpful. Helium. For those who have never carved a 'grown up' pumpkin before, I needed a few tips on 'how to' carve a pumpkin. I didn't think I had the right tools, so I went to get a decent saw and knife at home depot. They didn't have a scraper, though , so I just used my hands lol. It was sweet and gooey.

I already had a poker thingy from my scrapbooking (I try lol).

It was easy to get a pattern off the internet for the reduce, reuse, recycle logo. So I made it big enough and printed it out.

I also bought the biggest pumpkin the store had! I was surprised at how much it cost. Only $4.20! Yes, I live in Canada too!

Anyway, I think it turned out well. I don't know if I got enough of the stringy substance out of it, but it'll do, and no I didn't save the pumpkin seeds. I know I am a beginner and this is actually my second pumpkin I ever carved, so the simpler the pattern, the easier. There are some really nice looking ones, and people have some great ideas, as I saw on another blog, you can even carve a pro-life pumpkin! I thought that was neat.

Anyway.... HAPPY TRICK OR TREATING! Stay Safe or don't go out at all.

Sundays Scripture Study for Catholics

Courtesy of Vince Contreras @ Sunday Scripture Study for Catholics.

I hope you find it as awesome as I do.
I really, really love the fact it has Catechism references.
I also like that there is a discussion and fellowship blog to talk about Sunday's readings as well.

This weeks study is in this cool acrobat doohickey. It is my privilege to be able to share it with you so feel free to grab it and share it with others on your site as well. I plan on answering the questions in personal study and prayer time tomorrow. Hopefully, I will gain a better understanding of all that is being revealed in these passages.

Update:
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen

These Sundays readings are from:
Jeremiah 31:7-9Psalm 126:1-6; Hebrews 5:1-6;  Mark 10:46-52

My answers to the Questions:

  • I think the mood of the crowd according to Jeremiah was probably like a mob who is hungry for the word of God. Bartimaeus was considered to be an outcast, and that is why the crowds told him to be quiet. I tend to exclude others in my ignorance and prejudice too.
  • The significance of the way Bartimaeus addresses Jesus was that of blind faith (pun intended), trusting in the Messiah and knowing Jesus alone could help him. If you heard someone like Jesus was passing through, knowing who He was (the Son of David) and knowing He alone could help you, and probably the only opportunity you will ever have to be healed. Hopefully, I would invoke him to have pity on me too.
  • Bartimaeus took action . He invoked Jesus and asked for what he wanted, the rest of the crowd , probably spiritually blinded did not recognize the condition of their souls and did nothing but follow him out of curiosity probably. They too needed to be healed by Jesus but they didn't ask and/or believe they needed it *shrug* , like Bartimaeus did. Also this crowd, apparently, is the same crowd who would shout "Hosanna in the Highest and Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD" one week later and then after shout "Crucify Him, Crucify Him" =(
  • The difference between the rich young man's faith and Bartimaeus' is , Bartimaeus' heart was in the right place i think, while the rich young man's heart was in his riches instead of Jesus. Also James and Johns request was something Jesus did not come for at that time . Jesus came to heal and to save , that was the will of the Father . Bartimaeus's application was something Jesus could grant . For it was given to Him by the Father.
  • Persistence in prayer is what we can learn from Bartimaeus and ask for what we want.
  • If Jesus were to ask me "What do you expect me to do for you?" I would say:"Jesus, you have done everything for me, what more is there ?"
  • God is still saving people today, and I consider that a miracle. My faith is what helps me understand God. I quote St. Augustine: "Seek not to understand that you may believe, but believe that you might know".

Did God create Evil? ...... interesting

Alan Ames "Through the Eyes of Jesus"

This old blog

I have had a hard time finding the perfect blog background, as you may have noticed, I keep changing it. I can't make up my mind. Not only that, it's because I don't have the knowledge to do it myself. I also do not and cannot at this time, download photoshop because my computer sucks lol
I have seen some beautiful designs all over the blogosphere, but my computer is giving me troubles (oyvey) what a headache!

I can't download anything now since this machine keeps telling me it has no disk space. It also runs real slow. I have no idea how old it is since I got it for $200 at a pawn shop. I completely deleted all my pictures, and my documents and all my favorite websites and still; after defragmenting my files I have less than 1% available space. I have decided the only way I'm going to enjoy my computer is to get a new one, so, I hope to have one by the end of November. Pray for it :)

Before this computer dies, I want to thank all the blog designers (God Bless thecutestblogontheblock.com) who have contributed in making blogs everywhere look great and even better, for free. kudos. You deserve a gold star (if I could only make one) :P for assisting those of us who know jack about it. Anyway, I still need a header. Anyone? Feel free to respond to this post, thank you.

This is soooo sad

This is a prolife video. It shows how babies are found in dumpsters and remembered in a mass in their honor . It's really sad and it made me cry when I saw it a second time . I am not one who pickets or anything like that , but I believe life begins at conception and that abortion is evil. Our LORD calls abortion , like violence against women and children, crimes of the heart. It is a crime against the innocent ; a silent holocaust.

If someone decides they are going to get an abortion , then it's their choice and nobody can stand in the way of their free will but if we educate and spread the word about what abortion is , then perhaps someone may hear and help prevent an otherwise tragic mistake.

Requiem for the Disappeared

St. Michael says:
"trouble is coming to this generation who constructs its towers with innocent blood and founds its homelands on crime; this sacrifice (abortion) alone pleases Satan "
click to go to St. Michael's message
....abortion pleases Satan, because Satan needs human sacrifice to gain power, and so abortion is practised daily with so many not even being aware that it becomes a free-giving cult to the Devil. The devil thirsts for blood and he gets it now from the innocent.

Prayer for the Conversion of the World

Father all Merciful,

let those who hear and hear again
yet never understand,
hear Your Voice this time
and understand that it is You, the Holy of Holies;

open the eyes of those who see and see, yet never perceive, to see with their eyes this time Your Holy Face and Your Glory,

place Your Finger on their heart so that their heart may open and understand Your Faithfulness, I pray and ask you all these things, Righteous Father,

so that all the nations be converted and be healed through the Wounds of Your Beloved Son, Jesus Christ;

Amen

Matthew Kelly is a great speaker

"You can learn more in an hour of silence than in a year from books" - Matthew Kelly
I believe God has gifted this visionary with powerful life lessons along with the ability to be one of the greatest public speakers the world has seen today. Matthew Kelly tells of how God spoke to him in one of his books 'Our Father' (well in other books of his to I imagine ) but the stories he relays are full of wisdom and truth. I went to see him once when he came to Calgary about 14 years ago, and he had my attention from start to finish. I particularly loved the story of the Man and his company.

The Icon of Kazan

Wow this is an amazing documentary. It is about 1 hour and 30 minutes but I heard this icon is supposed to be 'a symbol' to Unity somehow. I think it has to do with Our Lady of Fatimas request for the conversion of Russia. idk
John Paul II said that "Despite the division which sadly still persists between Christians, this sacred Icon appears as a symbol of the unity of the followers of the only-begotten Son of God, the one to whom she herself leads us,"- St. Michael Center

Novena of Confidence to the Sacred Heart
“O Lord, Jesus Christ
To Your Most Sacred Heart,
I confide this intention ...
(Here mention your request)
Only look upon me
Then do what Your Heart inspires ...
Let Your Sacred Heart decide ...
I count on it ... I trust in It ...
I throw myself on Its mercy ...
Lord Jesus! You will not fail me.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in
Thy love for me.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy Kingdom Come.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I have asked for
many favours, but I earnestly implore this
one. Take it, place it in Thy Sacred Heart.
When the Eternal Father sees it covered with
Thy Precious Blood, He will not refuse it.
It will no longer be my prayer but Thine, O Jesus.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I place my trust in Thee.
Let me never be confounded. Amen.”
— Catholic Prayer

The Memorare of St Bernard
“Remember, O Most Gracious Virgin Mary
that never was it known that anyone
who fled to Thy protection, implored Thy help
and sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto Thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother!
to Thee I come, before Thee I stand, sinful
and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate! despise not my
petitions,
but in Thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen”
— Catholic Prayer

Prayer to St Michael the Archangel
“St Michael, the Archangel, defend us in the day
of battle,
be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares
of the devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits,
who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen”
Mary, Queen of Holy Angels, pray for us!

A reflection on detachment

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Readings for October 11, 2009:

Wisdom 7:7-11
Psalm 90:12-17
Hebrews 4:12-13
Mark 10:17-30

This Sundays gospel is about Jesus and the rich young man.
Jesus called him to be a disciple like the other twelve. How could this person reject such a calling? you may ask. He could have been the 13th disciple! but apparently he never saw what a great opportunity it was to serve Our LORD.

He walked away sad , looking after his own interests instead. The bible says the love of money/riches is the root of all evil. Jesus teaches us to love God , not money, by keeping the commandments and by looking after God's interests -i.e giving to the poor, instead of becoming what our society would call important i.e politicians lol.

In fact the bible teaches us about 'detachment'.
Detachment is to die to one's self, to die to one's will, and also to all material things a soul can be attached to.

We must die to ourselves and not be attached to the things that perish , but instead store up treasures in heaven-i.e by doing good deeds, and then come follow Me, Jesus said.
The Young man in this gospel today , didn't seem to understand that.
In fact, the Holy Spirit is what he needed.

Do not throw your TV out of the window just yet...

Michael Voris does an excellent job of presenting our catholic faith . In the series called 'The One True Faith' he describes it as "the most disturbing hour on television. . . "

Michael Voris says the One True Faith series was conceived - initially - because of all the lies that were spreading from 'the DaVinci code' about the catholic Church and Jesus Christ.

You can find out more of how it came about at St. Michael's Media

~It teaches the forgiveness of sin, but only through confession to a priest and the absolution given by him.

UPDATE: I must explain the Title of my post. It is a quote from someone on  Myspace Catholic and Protestant group. It is something a Protestant would say , if  you hadn't figured that much .

The Church teaches Jesus Christ gave His disciples the same authority to forgive sins; and also, the bible teaches that we are to confess our sins to one another .

Well known theologian Scott Hahn has come out with a new book titled, "Lord, Have Mercy: The Healing Power of Confession".

The following is an interview held to promote the book.
